Who we are
The People's Coalition is a voluntarily associated group of neighbors, educators, workers, and students coming together to provide support to North Orange County communities.
All our neighbors deserve access to housing, healthy food, medical care, and quality education—as well as freedom from harm and harassment from authorities. We believe we can take care of each other by building networks of care that address each of our needs.
What we Stand For
We are Anti-Imperialist and Anti-Capitalist.
We struggle for the defense and livelihood of Indigenous peoples and their land.
We center the political struggle of Black, Indigenous, and Trans feminisms.
We believe in the Radical Unity of all African and Indigenous communities.
We believe in the peoples right to Self-Determination and Self-Defense.
We believe in the abolition of all symptoms of settler colonialism,
capitalism, heteropatriarchy, and white supremacy.
Build Your Own Learning Pods
The Comrades Classroom -- this project is put on by a collective of folx from the community and alongside members of the People’s Coalition. Through our mutual aid coalition we work closely with folx from Mobilize the People and our longstanding community members.
We work to build spaces for, by, and with the people. To make this a safe space for all of our comrades, we must all be working to dismantle internalized symptoms of white supremacy like ableism, transphobia, homophobia, classism, whorephobia, fatphobia, and all other violence caused by settler colonialism.
The purpose of this curriculum is for you to engage in your own capacity and begin to form learning pods within your circles. Challenge your friends and family to join you in learning! For the safety and security of our space moving forward, our collective has decided to stop doing open zoom meetings, and instead, we want to encourage folx to form their own affinity groups and learning pods to work through the curriculum in a way that is most accessible for them. Community Sustainability
Along with our comrades at Mobilize the People we are incorporating a sustainer option through Patreon called The People's Fund for those who have the capacity to monetarily support our efforts. There are 8 Tiers ranging from $5 to $200 that all include a range of special gifts from all supporters who commit $25 or more per month.
We are asking that all members of the comrades classroom contribute with a $5 minimum monthly donation to help support our political education and mutual aid networks. If you are non-Black or Indigenous, please do not consume our collective labor for free.
