Story of the Three Wayfarers:
The First was the Powerhouse, the one that brought destruction and ruination upon the unrighteous and wicked. He was taught how to wield profane magic and his own blood as a righteous weapon for justice by a mysterious and ancient mentor. A serious and hardened man's patience was tried by the twin companions in his company, but he soon found fondness for them within him. Driven to break his vows to the God Maker, he created an Order unlike any other to protect all life. A life lived for too long, he sought rest once his work was complete. When there was time, he visited the Wanderer, his friend.
The Second was a priestess and diplomat, one whose words could soothe the souls of all she met, but who cast fear into the hearts of those with dark intent. Her voice calmed storms and shook regimes, and while she forsook her vows to take up a Wanderer's mantle, her dedication to good overshadowed all doubt for her decisions. But desperation to save her brother would one day overfill her heart and she would fall, just like so many of her descendants, choosing a dark and evil Book over the natural order. She never got her wish, not in the way she intended, and parted forever were they. Soul sold to the evil in the Book, she would one day be lost into the Nothingness of the in-between, doomed to be consumed by the Mad God for her crime.
The Third and Final was a wise and clever man who bound them all together. While his actions were unbecoming for someone of his station, he led the others to victory against the Damned One, who only sought to end their curse, but at the tragic cost of his own life when the Damned One lashed out. The gods were moved by his sacrifice and granted him a priceless boon. The reward for his strength of character and his sacrifice to preserve the world against evil was to make a place for him in their pantheon...or so it was thought. His real tragedy was his sister's mistake, the reading of a Book that kept him in a state of undeath. So taking on the name of a god, he weaseled his way into the pantheon and made his presence a fixture in his sister's descendants' lives. He guarded and guided those that needed him most, a caring figure and god of the Wanderers.

Founded the Order of Blood Hunters after the Wayfarers completed their "mission" to stop the Day of Black Sun, passing on his knowledge to a Moonshae hunter who later became known as the First Hunter.
The other two sort of just invited themselves along―and as the Traveler had convinced his sister to come along, it's more like the Traveler invited himself and brought a plus one.
The Traveler was the one who was sort of invited. He dragged his sister along, though she was not intended to be part of their group.
Developed and Refined the use of blood magic.
Described as having a "stick so far up his ass that he could use it as a stripper pole."
Gained his abilities because he was the God Maker's Champion. He feared death, among other things, and as a trade to live forever, he had to serve the God Maker personally. After Wefrevef's death, Estris had his fill and didn't wish to serve him any longer. After their argument, the God Maker stripped him of his immortality and sent him away to the Moonshae Isles.

Was a member of the Order of the Caretakers of the Elder Tree, and eventually made into their Headmistress after the Wayfarers delayed the Day of Black Sun. This is the origin of Enilasor's mask.
She broke her vows in order to leave and help her brother and the Seeker. It's what led to the Order and the High King elevating her to their Headmistress upon her return.
Didn't tell the other Caretakers that she had a family, leading to confusion when the party visited them.
Passed on her knowledge to her daughter, which became a tradition in the family up until Malquis's death.
Known Wanderers, From Oldest to Newest, Plus Class and Weapons:
Ysiad, Wizard in the College of Divination, short sword and staff
Quiemti Shrubgreen, Bladesinger Wizard, favored a scythe
Ecelnara Applefree, Soul Knife Rogue, two daggers with pearl inlay in the handles. Enilasor couldn't tell you why that's information that's lasted this long in the family...
Illiyanara Ninthclone, Circle of the Moon Druid, staff
Alleb Queenlace (Bella), Circle of the Stars Druid, only instance of a Wanderer using their predecessor's weapon, and the Wanderer wasn't buried with theirs. Supposedly, the staff was snapped in half after her death to put one half in her mother's grave...uncertain of the truth in the tale.
Yesor Birdfeather (Rosey), College of Valor Bard, short sword, played a panpipe
Callornti Beanthren, Cavalier Fighter, glave, rumored to be the tallest Wanderer
Zarnith Rosemine, College of Spirits Bard, used a very large snare drum and enjoyed beating people over the head with her drumsticks, used rhythm to guide spirits and companions in battle
Nolsara Rockreed, Alchemist Artificer, quarterstaff that she used as a walking stick later on in life, one of the oldest and longest-lived Wanderers
Ethrine Carrowine, Psyionic Warrior, sword and shield, shield was known for its dizzying, intricate patterns
Malquis Mistfield née Boneshot, Wizard in the College of Divination
Enilasor Mistfield (was the Wanderer while she posed as her mother Malquis for two and a half years)
Was said to have stopped the first Day of Black Sun somewhere around 1200DR, but that was long after their time. That day was not what it was believed to have been, but the God Maker casting out an evil to an in-between until someone would come along to defeat it.
The Traveler and the Wanderer were twins.
The New Wayfarers
The Story of the Wayfarers
The First was the Derelict One, unable to find her home or loved ones but willing to join the others in the fight against the Mad One. An Owlin whose plight took her far from her origins, the outsider in a band of outsiders, but her aim was true, and her passion for battle was her strength...and weakness. Though she was an oddity, something Other, her companions welcomed her help all the same. But tragedy struck, striking her from the books of time, until only two remembered her name.
The Second was the Traveler's Favored, a kobold whose love of material treasures soon spread to a treasure kept close to the heart. A devious and swift terror in the shadows, the mischievous rogue kept the friends together, just as his mentor-god once did for the first Wayfarers. The Favored was watchful for the dangers that would rob him of his new hoard, denying Death's call at every turn. With a desire to return the balance between Life and Death, he hunted his kin to fix mistakes, rewarded with the Traveler's boon in the aftermath. But tragedy struck him as well, a turn in Fate and his health lost in a battle against a Spymistress. Tired and not wanting to experience the cold hands of Death again, he retired to a villa to care for his mother and home.
The Third was the Driven Errant, a dwarven elf without a taste for nonsense. Her skill with her magic was near unmatched, her ferocity in battle unforgiving and unfailing. The daughter of a diplomat and an adventurer, the itch to travel was strong in her. She was the one to get the job done so she could go home by dinner, the one to take care of business before pleasure. Much like the first Seeker, her intentions and actions were treasured and showcased her value as a powerful ally. But life with the friends was not always ideal and her presence waned.
The Fourth was a Lost Wanderer. Daughter slew the Mother, the last of Ysiad, the first of the Wanderer Legacy, lost in bladed tragedy. Vowing to avenge the Wanderer, the Wandering Priestess of justice and peace rose from the haunted remains of tradition and hunted the Mad One, not only for herself but for the good of others in this life and the next. The strategist without a strategy who possessed the gift of creation found inspiration in her love for her companions. She carried light and kindness, leaving strands of hope in her wake that wove the bonds between them all and their allies that the Favored held together. But cursed to wear tragedy like a cloak, loss dogged her steps, just as it did her ancestors. The loss of a mother; the loss of the ability to go home; the departure of her brother, the Traveler's Favored; and the loss of her lover, the Broken Seeker. She changed her name to the Last Wanderer, vowing to not let the loss carry on to others.
The Fifth was cursed indeed, the Broken Seeker whose nightmarish visions and cursed knowledge plagued his mind and dogged every step. The kingly man who straddled two worlds humbled himself in self-imposed isolation and hunted the forces of the Mad One, never wanting another to live his life. Knowing what awaited all who moved to the Beyond, he persevered through the maddening agony of his memories to preserve Life and Death for the sake of us all. To save his companions, his people, and reality, he gave his life to bring down the god Degon and the madman Malyn Volar. With his soul cursed by his own actions with the knowledgable god Yog Sathoth, his soul was sent to the Nowhere to be devoured by Azathoth, such is the fate of all who were cursed like him.
The Sixth was the Worn Vagabond from the jungles, the loyal companion of the Broken Seeker. Brothers in arms and hearts with shared scars, the grung held the same curse as their beloved friend. Their growing knowledge spread like a foul weed that ravaged dream and body alike. However, the Vagabond's unwavering faith in people and their goodness gave the powerful and kind monk the hope he needed to push on. He stood his ground against the cruelty and unfairness in the world, defending those in need by discerning the good and evil in all. But cursed with the knowledge of how the Broken Seeker would be lost, he kept the secret until after the Broken Seeker's death, when the warning he could have bestowed on the Broken Seeker and their friends was revealed.
The Seventh was the Drifting Soldier, a man who fought long and hard against an oppressive regime that devoured the spirits of the people. His desire for freedom, not only for himself but for others in this world, fueled the righteous anger he directed at the cruel monsters in power. Vowing to carry the ideals of his people with him and share the story of his homeland's victory, he was the next to last to join the hopeful heroes. His strength and calming presence were a balm to the band of friends, easing their minds with laughter and smiles alike. Self-imposed tragedy found him as well, as the loss of their friend the Broken Seeker drove him to make a deals with the dark ones. Vows broken to his people but loyalty never waning, he fought to defend his people from heaven and hell alike, his vows were given to a demon and then Yog Sathoth to grant him the strength he needed to save them all.
The Eighth was the Nomadic Emissary, a drow of great skill; her hands were deft and her wit was sharp. Shrewd deconstruction of their enemies and allies alike gave the Wayfarers the know-how to fight every battle, be it with blades or words. A diplomat of threats over peace, she stood her ground and charged headfirst into political intrigue, bullying their foes to bend to her will. Like the Lost Wanderer, she created and designed wonderous things to protect her friends, giving them every advantage she could in their desperate fight to save us all. No method was too far for her, willing to make deals with devils for the sake of their mission and her friends' safety.
