***What Does Hebrews 2:5-10 TRULY mean?
Here is Hebrews 2:5-10 from the KJV. “For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
Hebrews 2:6. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Hebrews 2:7. Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
Hebrews 2:8. Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
Hebrews 2:9. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Hebrews 2:10. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”
Notice that in verse 5 the pronoun “He” is referring to Almighty God the Creator, who did NOT put ANY of His angels on His Throne to rule over the world to come.
Therefore, none of the “Angel of the Lord” verses in the Old Testament refer to a LITERAL pre-existence of the Son of God.
They can be a TYPE or FIGURE of the Messiah, but NOT a LITERAL existence of a so-called God the Son as the man-made doctrine of the Trinity claims.
Then in Hebrews 2:6, we see that Almighty God the Creator VISITED the Son of Man morning by morning, according to the prophecy in Isaiah 50:4-11.
And in verse 7, we see that Almighty God SET the Son of Man, Jesus, to be over the WORKS of His hand, speaking of the works of the Father, who alone is the Creator, according to Isaiah 44:24.
In other words, the whole context is about the HUMAN Son of God RECEIVING Power and Authority from his God and Father who created Jesus in the womb of the Virgin Mary, according to the Prophecy in Jeremiah 31:22.
This TRUTH is clearly understood in all of the following verses of Scripture:
Revelation 5:12, Matthew 28:18, Romans 1:3-4, John 17:2, Hebrews 2:5-10, Hebrews 1:2, Hebrews 12:2, Daniel 7:13-14, Acts 2:22-36, Romans 14:9, John 18:37, Philippians 2:6-11, 1 Peter 3:22, Psalm 2:6-9, Psalm 110:1-4, Psalm 89:27, Psalm 89:19-20, Isaiah 9:6-7, Luke 1:32-33, Luke 24:25-26, John 3:35, John 5:22-27, Ephesians 1:2-22, 1 Corinthians 15:22-28, Revelation 11:15,
The context of Hebrews 2:5-10 being MADE a little LOWER than the angels first, and then CROWNED with Glory and Honor AFTER the cross and resurrection.
The “controversy” is whether the glory is being RETURNED to God the Son, or if the glory is RECEIVED by the Son of MAN as the “JOY” set before him to endure the cross, according to Hebrews 12:2.
Keep in mind that Jesus OVERCAME the world THROUGH the Eternal Spirit dwelling in him to offer himself to his God without sin, according to Hebrews 9:14, Acts 10:38, and many other verses of Scripture.

The Son of Man RECEIVED Power After the Cross and Resurrection!
Introduction-Almighty God the Father is the Creator ALONE!
Let us begin this Verse Study on Hebrews 2:5-10 by reading the context so that you can see that it was Almighty God the Father who MADE His word of PROPHECY to become FLESH.
In other words, it BEHOOVED the Father that it was necessary for His Messiah to be MADE a little LOWER and INFERIOR to the angels first.
And God did that so THAT He could JUDGE the fallen angels BY the Son of MAN, Jesus, whom He ORDAINED and raised from the dead, according to Acts 17:29-31. And 1 Peter 1:19-22 says FOREORDAINED.
I will highlight all the words and pronouns that refer back to Almighty God the Father in orange. And the pronouns referring to Jesus during the days of his FLESH will be in yellow.
The words in blue refer to the GLORIED Son of MAN, Jesus, after the cross and resurrection.
And the words in green are for emphasis. I also use green to show words that should be translated more correctly.
I will also place my comments after each verse to explain my understanding in the Light of the Whole word of Almighty God.
Please read Hebrews 2:1-18.
“Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
This does not mean what you have heard taught in church denominations wrongly teaching church TRADITION.
But rather, this means that we ought to earnestly heed to the doctrine of the Apostles, which what the Bible itself teaches us in the light of the whole word of Almighty God.
Hebrews 2:2. For if the word spoken by (Or spoken to the) angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;
In other words, the fallen angels are on trial and they will receive their just punishment for rebelling against God.
Satan and his angels will NOT escape the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment.
And if THE fallen angels will not escape judgment, And neither will the “disobedient children of God, who neglect their salvation.
Hebrews 2:3. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Hebrews 2:4. God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to His own will?
Hebrews 2:5. For unto the angels has He NOT put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
Clearly, none of the angels did Almighty God say to sit on His Throne at His Right Hand side to rule over the world to come.
Therefore, none of the Angel of the Lord verses in the Old Testament teach a LITERAL pre-existence of the Son of God. Those verses can be seen as TYPES, FIGURES and SHADOWS of the Messiah, but NOT as a LITERAL existence of a so-called God the Son as Trinitarian Christians claim.
Hebrews 2:6. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that You are mindful of him? Or the Son of MAN, that You visit him?
The writer of Hebrews is quoting prophecies of Jesus, the Son of MAN, and the whole human race being made by Yahweh the Creator to be lower and inferior to the angels.
So, when we read where Jesus was MADE flesh or of the seed of David, then that means that Jesus was CREATED by his God.
It does NOT mean that a so-called pre-existing Son of God BECAME flesh to TOOK ON flesh. But rather, the Scriptures say the following.
Hebrews 2:7. You MADE him a little lower than the angels; (Then AFTER the cross) You CROWNED him with glory and honor, and (You) did SET him over the works of YOUR hands:
This verse makes it blatantly clear that Jesus is NOT the CREATOR!
Therefore, verses like Colossians 1:16-17 and John 1:1-3 are speaking of Yahweh the Father’s NEW Creation IN Jesus Anointed as both Lord and Messiah.
Hebrews 2:8. You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see NOT YET all things PUT under him.
Now, if so be that Jesus was fully Almighty God as the doctrine of the Trinity and the doctrine of Oneness claim then all things would have already been under him.
Hebrews 2:9. But WE see Jesus, who was MADE a little lower than the angels FOR the suffering of death, CROWNED with GLORY and honor; that he BY the grace of God should taste death for every man.
In other words, the very Apostles and eyewitnesses did NOT see Jesus as being Yahweh Himself.
But rather, the very Apostles of Jesus said, But WE see Jesus.
The first Adam was created by God as fully human without any divine nature and the last Adam was created in the womb of the Virgin Mary by God as fully human without any divine nature, according to Jeremiah 31:22.
For you see, it was AFTER the cross that Yahweh GAVE His human son the divine nature of immortality.
In other words, by MAN sin entered the world and by MAN came the resurrection.
It makes no sense to COMPARE a MAN with a MAN if one MAN is Almighty God Himself in the flesh.
Hebrews 2:10. For it became Him, for who are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to MAKE the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
The word “things” is not in the Greek text. This verse is about BRINGING “the ALL who believe” unto GLORY.
And we also see that it BECAME the Creator to MAKE the Captain of our salvation PERFECT through sufferings.
Hebrews 2:11. For both he (Speaking of Jesus who was MADE PERFECT BY Almighty God the Father after the cross) that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: (Speaking of the ALL of whosoever believes unto the end to be saved are ONE with Jesus our BROTHER and fellow servant) for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Hebrews 2:12. Saying, I will declare YOUR name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto YOU.
Hebrews 2:13. And again, I will put my trust in Him. And again, Behold I and the children which God has GIVEN me.
Hebrews 2:14. Forasmuch THEN, AS the children are PARTAKERS of flesh and blood, he ALSO himself likewise took part (Or he ALSO was MADE a PARTAKER) of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Hebrews 2:15. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Hebrews 2:16. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels, but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Or TRULY Jesus was MADE a PARTAKER, not of the superior nature of the angelic beings.
But rather, God made Jesus a little LOWER and inferior to the angels to be made a PARTAKER of the seed of Abraham.
Hebrews 2:17. Wherefore, in all things, it behooved Him to be made (Or more precisely, it behooved Almighty God the Father to MAKE His Messiah a little LOWER than the angels) like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Now, when we COMPARE Scripture with Scripture, we can clearly see that the Son did NOT take upon himself to be a high priest, according to Hebrews 5:5.
“So also Christ glorified NOT himself to be made a high priest; but he said unto him, You are my Son, today have I begotten you.”
And NEITHER did a so-called pre-existing God the Son come down from heaven to take on flesh and blood or to be made flesh.
That is simply an INCORRECT translation that CONTRADICTS the rest of Scripture.
It was the word of prophecy that came out of the MOUTH of God that was made flesh, according to Isaiah 55:9-11.
Hebrews 2:18. For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.”
The Greek word translated as “behooved” carries the meaning of accruing or having an advantage or something that is BENEFICIAL.
It also means something that MUST be done. It was an OBLIGATION for the Messiah to be made lower and inferior to the angels.
In other words, if Yahweh Created Jesus SUPERIOR to the angels then the Son of Man would have had an ADVANTAGE over the angels to be able to overcome the temptation of Satan.
For you see, if an inferior species of being that is lower to the angelic being lived without sin, then that would PROVE to all the GOOD angels that what Yahweh creates He creates PERFECT.
And, therefore, Yahweh will be justified to destroy Satan and the fallen angels in the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment to make an END of evil for all eternity.
Here is how E-Sword defines the Greek word translated as it “behooved” him.

Including its prolonged form (second form) used in certain tenses. Probably from the base of G3786 (through the idea of accruing); to owe (pecuniarily); figuratively to be under an obligation (ought, must, should); morally to fail in duty: - behoove, be bound, (be) debt (-or), (be) due (-ty), be guilty (indebted), (must) need (-s), ought, owe, should. See also G3785.
The LITERAL translation of Hebrews 2:14 says, “NOT of angels IT is taking hold BUT of the seed of Abraham, IT is taking hold.”
And the pronoun “IT” is referring to the spoken word of PROPHECY that was FULFILLED and MADE FLESH.
Can you not see that Yahweh watches over His spoken word of prophecy to PERFORM IT or make IT come to pass.
And that makes Jesus to be created by Yahweh and the workmanship of Yahweh.
When you read some earlier English translations of the Bible BEFORE the King James translation the word that was in the beginning with God called the “Word” was referred to by the pronoun “IT”.

But for now, let us read the literal translation of Hebrews 2:16,17a.
And then I will quote an excerpt from the study on John 1:1-3.
Here is the LITERAL translation of Hebrews 2:16,17.
“Assuredly, NOT for messengers or NOT for the angels IT is taking hold, BUT for the seed of Abraham, IT is taking hold.
Hebrews 2:17. Wherefore he OUGHT, according to the ALL to the BRETHREN, to be made like…”
And here is an excerpt from one of several studies that I have on John 1:1 called WHAT DOES JOHN 1:1-3 TRULY MEAN?
Please read John 1:1-5,14 from a LITERAL translation.
“In beginning was the SAYING and the SAYING was TOWARD THE God and God was the SAYING.
John 1:2. THIS was in beginning TOWARD THE God.
John 1:3. ALL through SAME BECAME and apart from SAME became NOT YET ONE which HAS BECOME .
Now to ME, I am seeing that this verse is speaking of THE ALL of every NEW CREATURE who has become created in Jesus Christ as the fulfilling of the GOAL that was PROPHESIED to BECOME by Yahweh the Father.
I personally do NOT see this verse in John 1:1 speaking of the beginning of the creation of the entire universe in the eternity past.
But rather, the beginning in John 1:1 is the RECREATING or the RESTORING of the earth that became void and without form by the WAR between Lucifer and Almighty God.

For you see, once you understand that Satan and the fallen angels are on TRIAL and the saints who overcome are the JURY then you will understand WHY God created mankind in the first place.
John 1:4. In SAME life was and the life was the LIGHT of the humans.
The spoken and the written word of God is the LIGHT or the understanding of eternal life.
The words Jesus spoke and taught were NOT his OWN words. But rather, they were the words of his God and Creator.
Therefore, IN the words of the Father, spoken by His Prophet, Jesus, there was LIFE, and that life in the Scriptures was the LIGHT of men, the humans.
John 1:5. And the LIGHT in the darkness is appearing and the darkness it not down got.
Or the darkness did not understand the gospel of Jesus Christ or Jesus ANOINTED. Let’s skip down to verse 14, where the spoken word of Prophecy, the SAYING of Yahweh toe Father was fulfilled to be MADE Flesh.
...John 1:14. And the SAYING flesh became as booths (Or tabernacles or dwells in us or among us) and we gaze the esteem (Or the glory of him) as of only GENERATED beside Father full of grace and truth.”
In other words, the Son of MAN, Jesus, was GENERATED to be EXALTED to begin to be or to be SET at the right hand side of the Father.
And that was the GOAL or Yahweh the Father in John 1:1. When God said, Let there be LIGHT it was also a prophecy to GENERATE Himself a SON to sit on his throne beside Him that was TOWARD the God when God RESTORED the earth. Jesus was born to be made God’s King.
The reason that God restored the earth that became void as a result of the WAR in Heaven and also because of God’s WRATH to end that literal physical war, is so that he could create man a little LOWER or INFERIOR to the angels in order to JUDGE the fallen angels who waged that war in the universe during a previous age.

For you see, we who overcome will be EXALTED and made JOIN-HEIRS with Jesus, who OVERCOME Satan THROUGH the Eternal Spirit dwelling in him to be made God’s firstborn of every creature.
And now we are being conformed in the image of Jesus to be made Yahweh’s RIGHTEOUS NEW CREATION to rule and reign WITH His ONLY GENERATED Son who is beside the Father right NOW.
In other words, Jesus is the only begotten ETERNAL Son of God right at this moment in time.
But SOON, and I do mean very soon, God will GENERATE us who overcome through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony through Jesus.
And we shall ALSO become the ETERNAL sons and daughters of Almighty God to rule and reign WITH Jesus for 1000 years in the world to come.
Again, my point is that the LITERAL translation and all the earlier translations do NOT capitalize the word “word” as “Word”.
And they ALSO do NOT use the pronoun “he” to SWAY the reader to wrongly believe that the “LOGOS” is God the Son, the second person of a Godhead Trinity God who always existed without beginning in eternity past.
So to me, I see that the earlier English translations and some LITERAL translations were trying to be HONEST in their translations to let us know that the SPOKEN “LOGOS” or the SPOKEN word or the SPOKEN SAYING of God became flesh.
And thus, the word in John 1:1 was NOT God the Son, the second person of a Godhead Trinity God that became flesh.
So then, in the LIGHT of the rest of God’s word, you can see that the KJV “translation” and the Trinitarian
“Interpretation” of Hebrew 2:14 CONTRADICTS the spoken word of prophecy being made flesh.
In other words, the KJV translation of Hebrews 12:14 has misled some Christians to wrongly believe that a so-called God the Son TOOK ON flesh and blood.
So then, let us take a look at some OTHER translations of Hebrew 2:14 so that you can see that it behooved Almighty God that His Messiah must be created a little inferior to the angels.
Hebrews 2:14 from the Common English Bible.
“Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he also shared the same things in the same way. He did this to destroy the one who holds the power over death—the devil—by dying.”
Hebrews 2:14 Holman Christian Standard Bible.
“Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, He also shared in these, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death-that is, the Devil-”
Hebrews 2:14 from the Darby Translation.
“Since therefore the children partake of blood and flesh, he also, in like manner, took part in the same, that through death he might annul him who has the might of death, that is, the devil;”
Hebrews 2:14 from the English Standard Version.
“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,”
Hebrew 2:14 from the Lexham Bible.
“Therefore, since the children share in blood and flesh, he also in like manner shared in these [same things], in order that through death he could destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,”
Hebrews 2:14 from the New International Version.
“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—”
Hebrews 2:14 from the NEW King James Version.
“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,”
Now that you have seen that Hebrews 2:14 does not dogmatically mean that the KJV must be the ONLY possible translation of the original Greek text, let us take a closer look at Philippians 2:6-8 in the next chapter.
