John 5:22-27 Proves God’s Human Son Came First!
The REASON God’s Son Was Given All Power!
*** Here is John 5:22,26-27 from the KJV: “John 5:22. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: …
John 5:27. And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.”
Please understand that the Gospels were written after the events they describe had already occurred. Therefore these verses are not a live recording as they happened.
In other words, the Son of Man, Jesus, was not given all power and authority until after the cross and resurrection, according to Matthew 28:18 and many other verses of Scripture.
Notice that this passage of Scripture emphasizes delegated authority from the Father to the Son of MAN entrusting judgment to the Son.
It was not power, authority to execute judgment that the Son of God already possessed.
Also, verse 26 clearly shows that life is granted from the Father, which is the same eternal life the Creator always possessed.
This is a key distinction in understanding the true Jesus as being made a “human Son of God” first, and then after the cross and resurrection, his God crowned Jesus with glory and honor to RECEIVE power to rule as the Creator’s New King.
The Eternal Life in Himself was granted to the Son of Man, BECAUSE he was the Son of MAN.
And that divine nature of immortality was GIVEN to Jesus AFTER he obeyed all of his God and Father’s “WILL”.
The Father’s will preceded the Son of Man’s mission, which God empowered him to accomplish through the Anointing of the Holy Spirit.
How does the title “Son of Man” in verse 27 contrast with claims of pre‑human existence?
Does John 5:26,26 agree with the doctrine of the Trinity?
The word, “BECAUSE” is the REASON for God giving the Son all power and authority after the cross and resurrection.
And the Bible ITSELF blatantly states as a fact with no interpretation needed that it was BECAUSE God’s Son was the Son of MAN as being the “REASON” why the Father crowned him with glory and honor to receive power.

John 5:22-27 Proves God’s Human Son Came First!
The REASON God’s Son Was Given All Power!
The Gospels were written after the events they describe and not as live recordings. The writings in the New Testament are the inspired testimonies compiled by those who witnessed the events and heard the teaching of Jesus firsthand. And then later they reflected on God’s unfolding plan to write letters to those they preached the Gospel who were not “eye-witnesses” of Jesus.
Understanding this perspective reveals how the gospel was later written as the books of the New Testament.
The earliest followers of Jesus first shared His words and deeds orally, through preaching and teaching. Over time, individual letters and written testimonies began to circulate among the churches.
Each letter addressing specific communities, questions, or events. These writings were not one long continuous single letter called the Gospel of John or the Gospel of Mark.
But rather, each of the four Gospels is a collection of individual inspired records of events and teachings of Jesus that were gathered and arranged by different authors.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John each compiled their Gospel from these sources: their own eyewitness memories, and Spirit‑guided reflection, their memories of what they taught and possibly the letters they wrote to the church.
Those events and teachings of Jesus were inspired by the Holy Spirit to be written down, which became the four distinct yet harmonious portraits of the same truth, which are called the four Gospels in the New Testament.
And understanding that John 5:22-27 was AFTER the cross and resurrection, and NOT during the Ministry of Jesus keeps the teachings of Jesus from causing CONFUSION.
For you see, if the Son of Man was given Eternal Life BEFORE the cross and resurrection, then Jesus could not have died for the sins of the whole world.
Therefore, divine authority and eternal life was granted to the HUMAN Son MAN according to the Father’s will. And this is evidence of the Son NOT having pre‑human existence.
But rather John 5:22-27 teaches us about the purposeful appointment by the God and Creator of Jesus to become His Faithful and Truthful Witness to judge the fallen angels, also called Elohim or the gods who rebelled and waged a war in the universe.
Trinitarian Christians, Modalist Oneness Pentecostal Christians and other Christians who believe that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh quote verses like Isaiah 44:8 to try and prove there is only ONE God being taught in the Bible.
Let’s go ahead and read that verse of Scripture from the King James Version first, and then I will explain its true sound Biblical meaning in the light of the whole word of Almighty God.
Isaiah 44:8.
“Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.”
Isaiah 44:8 declares the incomparable nature of God This statement, “Is there any God like Me? I know not any”, stands as a divine challenge to every claim of equality or shared existence.
Therefore, IF this verse is correctly translated in the KJV, then this verse proves there was NO pre-existing God the Son who was WITH God as John 1:1 is “INTERPRETED” by Trinitarian Christians.
In other words, that way in which Isaiah 44:8 is “translated” it is made perfectly clear that there is NO God the Son who was BESIDE Yahweh before the cross and resurrection.
This verse reminds us that the Creator alone possesses eternal life and authority, while all other beings, including His appointed Son, receive their power by the Highest God, the God of the gods that He Himself made to become gods under and subject to Him.
When we read John 5:22–27 through this lens, we see that the Son’s authority was not self‑originated but granted by the Father, confirming that divine judgment and life flow from the One True God who knows no equal.
In light of the prophetic theme of a “witness”, I propose a more context-aligned translation of Isaiah 44:8 that agrees with the context.
Please understand that I am not altering God’s word, rather my approach of OFFERING my readers with other possible translations seeks to clarify the meaning already present in the Hebrew text.
The phrase “Is there any God beside Me?” may be better understood as “Is there any god appointed apart from Me?”
Let’s read two other possible ways to translate and understand Isaiah 44:8 in the light of the Son of Man, Jesus being in the mind and plan of Yahweh as His Faithful and Truthful Witness.
#1. Alternate translation of Isaiah 44:8.
“Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? You are even My witnesses. Is there a God WITHOUT Me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.”
#2. Alternate translation of Isaiah 44:8.
“Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? You are even My witnesses. Is there any god appointed APART from Me?
All three translations emphasize Yahweh’s SAME declaration that no other being shares His authority or purpose.
However, both alternate readings harmonize with the prophecy of a faithful witness to bring a deeper understanding of why we shall JUDGE the angels and Yahweh’s FAITHFUL Witnesses.
The whole argument for Jesus having to be one and the selfsame BEING as the Father is based upon the INCORRECT understanding of ONE God in the Bible.
Again, the Hebrew words often rendered or translated as “beside” can also mean “WITHOUT Me and “APART from Me”.
In this sense, Yahweh’s statement, “Is there any God beside Me?”, conveys that no power or being will continue to exist or act independently AGAINST Him.
This does not change the God intended meaning of Scripture, which clearly teaches us that Satan and his angels are God’s ENEMIES.
But rather, the alienated interpretations that I purpose or offer my readers and seekers of God’s truth, bring forth other legitimate ways to translate verses of Scripture that seem out of place.
And by out of place I mean they either seem illogical or they contradict other verses of Scripture in the Bible due only to the WAY in which they have been translated.
My point is that we, as Christians today, are reading “translations”, but the Apostles of God spoke and wrote the teachings of Jesus in Koine Greek, the common language of the people in that region of the eastern Mediterranean during their day in the first century.
This was not the classical Greek of philosophers but the everyday speech of fishermen, merchants, and travelers, the very language through which the Gospel could reach all nations.
Understanding this helps us see that our modern Bibles are the result of centuries of translation from those original writings. Each translation carries interpretive choices.
And by studying the Greek text using all of the meanings of the Greek text, then we can often recover nuances that deepen our grasp of prophecy and doctrine.
The alternative phrases that I have “proposed” and NOT dogmatically demanded, are consistent with the context, but they bring a deeper understanding of both the context in a passage and the broader context of prophecy.
My main point of all authority flowing from the Creator remains true and undeniable regardless of how Isaiah 44:8 is translated.
The Son of man’s mission was to be a faithful and truth witness, whom his God can use to judge the world, according to Acts 17:29-31,
For even a deeper understanding of the context of Isaiah 44:8, please read the verse study titled “WHO Are the ANCIENT People in Isaiah 44:7?”
The Apostles taught that Jesus was made human first and then crowned with glory after the cross.
There are no verses of Scripture that say or even imply that Jesus existed as both God and man at the same time, having two natures, one eternal and one human.
But rather, Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians 5:16
that Jesus only had ONE NATURE and a time and his human nature was FIRST.
2 Corinthians 5:16-17.
“Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
In other words, we used to know Jesus as being a mortal human being, but now we no longer know Jesus as a MORTAL man, but as God’s New Creation made a partaker of the divine nature of IMMORTALITY after the cross and resurrection.
2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a New Creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Therefore means for this very reason that we no longer know Jesus as being mortal, But from henceforth, we now know Jesus as begging GIVEN Eternal Life never to die again, any man in Jesus Christ is a new creature as well.
Can you not see that many verses like Hebrews 1:4 and 2 Peter clearly teach us that the angels were MADE SUBJECT unto the Son of Man, Jesus.
Therefore, saying that Jesus was FULLY Almighty God and fully flesh during the days of his flesh is making a LIE, which Jesus warns those who LOVE not to make in Revelation 22:14-15.
The new name, higher than the angels, signifies the authority of the Son of MAN as the Firstborn of God’s new creation, set over the works of His Father’s hands during the coming age, according to Hebrews 2:5-10.
Again, there are no verses that describe a dual nature of full deity and full humanity existing simultaneously BEFORE the cross and resurrection.
But rather, there are MANY verse that clearly teach a human mortal man chosen and glorified by his God to be entrusted with divine rule over the whole earth for 1000-years during the age to come.
Jesus is our Lord and King by our choice of faith, and those who believe and follow Him have already submitted to His rule.
Yet Scripture shows that the kingdoms of this present world remain under the sway of Satan, the god of this age. And even some Christians are still blinded to the GLORY of the Anointed, who is the IMAGE of God, according to 2 Corinthians 4:4 when it is “correctly” translated as some other translations have done.
Revelation 11:15 foretells the moment when “the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ,” and Daniel 7:14 confirms that dominion and glory will be given to the Son of Man when all nations finally serve Him.
Until that appointed time, the world’s systems still resist our Lord’s kingship, but believers live now under His spiritual reign, awaiting the day when His authority is visibly established over all the works of His Father’s hands.
Therefore only Christians have been given the power
and authority in the NEW NAME of Jesus to command the devils to cease and desist in our lives, the lives of our family and the lives of those who ask for prayer.
When I was asked what benefit is there in believing that Jesus was human first, rather than continuing to believe the doctrine of the Trinity and the dual natures of Jesus during His earthly ministry?
The answer lies in understanding the power of the ANOINTING that Jesus was given at his baptism. Jesus accomplished every work, miracle, and victory through the power of his God, not by his own “so-called” inherent divinity as supposedly pre-existing as God the Son.
Jesus declared, “I can do nothing of Myself” in John 5:19-30, which is the CONTEXT of the verse study!
These verses plus many other verses clearly show that His strength came from the Father’s Spirit dwelling within Him. This truth gives believers confidence that the same anointing and measure of the Spirit that empowered Jesus is available to us.
The Trinity doctrine wrongly teaches that only Jesus could live without sin because he was fully God.
But the Apostolic teaching reveals that Jesus overcame as a man filled with God’s Spirit, the same Spirit now given to all who believe.
Thus, the doctrine of the Apostles confirms that all power given to the Son flows from the Father’s “will” to give His now GLORIFIED Son the power to baptize those who believe with the same Holy Spirit.
Here are some thoughts to ponder!
Jesus lived and ministered as a man fully dependent on the Spirit of His God, showing us the pattern of obedience and faith that every believer can follow.
His miracles and sinless life were not proof of personal divinity, but of perfect submission to divine leading of the Eternal Holy Spirit dwelling in him.
The same Spirit that empowered Jesus now dwells in us, giving believers the same ability to walk in righteousness and victory over sin.
Understanding Jesus as human first magnifies the grace of God, that He can raise ordinary people to extraordinary purpose through His Spirit.
The doctrine of the Apostles teaches that holiness is not reserved for one man, who was made to become a divine‑immprtal-human being, but that SAME GLORY is promised to be shared with all who receive the same anointing to overcome the world.
As you finish this study, use the links provided to look up every verse that teaches how the human Son of God RECEIVED all power and authority AFTER the cross.
These passages confirm that Jesus was MADE both Lord and Christ by the will of his God. and thus, the Son of God is not the Creator Himself as Thriniatian Christians, Modalist Oneness Pentecostal Christians, and the Jehovah’s Witnesses CLAIM!
But rather, Jesus is the creation of Almighty God the Father, whom he made His NEW Lord and NEW King over the whole earth for 1000-years during the age to come.
And the purpose for Yahweh doing this is to JUDGE the fallen gods who waged a war against His other gods He set to rule over different planets in the universe.as the appointed ruler over all creation.
I encourage and exhort all Christians to copy and paste this list of verse references to save on your computer. Some of the links take you to Bible Tools to read and study the verses in their context.
While other links take you to my Verse Study on that particular verse. The verse is quoted at the top of the page with a link to Gible Tools as well to read the context. You can read the short introduction to see if you want to read the whole study.
These Verse Studies are short and to the point serving as a CALL to return to the Apostolic doctrine, which clearly teaches that the Son Man was exalted to be seated on the highest throne beside the Father after he obeyed all of his God’s will, even to suffer and die on the cross for the sins of the whole world.
Please allow each verse to speak for itself. Each individual verse study presents only two choices: truth or error, right or wrong. Like a coin flip, the odds are fifty‑fifty, but the outcome depends entirely on whether one studies Scripture with Scripture for themselves or they rely on their own denominational literature.
Many denominations interpret through their own writings rather than through the inspired text, and that practice inevitably leads them straight back to what their church denomination believes and teaches.
My goal is to keep God’s message simple!
Here is the list of verses with LINKS that clearly teach God’s Son as being GIVEN all Power and authority AFTER the cross and resurrection, according to:

A Brother in our Lord Jesus Christ, who is or was a Trinitarian Christian asked me the following question:
“What is the BENEFIT of believing Jesus was made Lord after the cross and resurrection?”
In other words, he wanted to know if believing that God the Son became flesh is less beneficial or less advantageous than believing the human Son of God was exalted to become a Lord, a King and a God under and subject to his God and Creator.
What is the ADVANTAGE of believing one doctrine over the other is the question.
Here are some points to ponder.
Only one doctrine is true while the other is false!
Is it more advantageous to teach false doctrine?
If Jesus taught the Trinity co-equal, co-eternal doctrine, the Apostles did not obey Jesus to teach that Jesus and the Father are equal.
Trinitarians are taught that ONLY Jesus can live without sin.
I teach Hebrews 9:14 showing Jesus overcame sin through the Eternal Spirit dwelling in him
I teach what Jesus taught in John 14:12!
Believing that Jesus had no advantage over us to resist the Devil builds our faith to overcome sin!
Wrongly believing the only Jesus can live without sin weakens a Christian’s faith to remain under the dominion of sin.
If Numbers 23:19 is true, then the Trinity is false teaching that makes God a liar!
The doctrine of the Trinity contradicts many other verses of Scripture as well.
More Jews would be saved teaching that God set His Messiah to be made a King.
No need to try to explain away Jesus having Yahweh as his God over him.
These are just a few advantages of teaching the TRUE Jesus being made a Lord, a King, and a God under and subject to his God after the cross and resurrection.
The same Spirit which raised Jesus now empowers us to walk in His truth until every kingdom is brought under His reign.
Thanks for reading, and may God bless you richly as you continue to seek the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.
And to me, the truth concerning who Jesus TRULY is, according to the Bible ITSELF, is the Biblical Unitarian view of Jesus.
Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
