Jesus is the Beginning of God’s NEW Creation!
***What Does Revelation 3:14 TRULY mean?
Here is Revelation 3:14 from the KJV. “And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;”
My first observation while studying this verse is that God is the Creator? Jesus is the beginning OF what? Jesus is the beginning of the CREATION OF God!
So, it is not “logical” to conclude that God created Himself!
The second question that came to me is, “Why would God need to Create a Faithful and Truthful WITNESS in the eternity past before the Son supposedly BEGAN the God’s creation of the universe?”
The third observation is that there are FOUR possible “creations”:
The original creation of the universe.
The original creation of JUST the earth and its solar system or the heavens of the earth around 6,000 years ago.
The recreation or the restoration of the earth after it became void and without form around 6,000 years ago.
Or God’s NEW Creation of righteous NEW Creatures, who will be FAITHFUL and Truthful Witnesses to judge the Fallen angels by proving that Yahweh the Creator does not create creatures that are flawed with a sinful nature.
The context in the Book of Revelation is talking about Jesus being God’s faithful and truthful WITNESS who is the BEGINNING of God’s new creation of new creatures created in righteousness.
And Jesus is the FIRSTBORN from the dead among many BRETHREN, the BEGINNING of the church of the FIRSTBORN!
Revelation 1:5 clearly teaches us that the Son of MAN, Jesus, became God’s faithful witness when God raised him from the DEAD.
Jesus OVERCAME the world THROUGH the Eternal Spirit dwelling in him to offer himself to his God without sin, according to Hebrews 9:14, Acts 10:38, and many other verses of Scripture.

Jesus is the Beginning of God’s NEW Creation!
Verse Study on Revelation 3:14!
Revelation 1:5 Teaches us WHEN Jesus Became God’s WITNESS!
Trinitarian Christians and the Jehovah’s Witnesses use these two verses of Scriptures in the Book of Revelation, Revelation 3:14 and Revelation 4:11, along with a few other passages of Scripture, to try to prove that Jesus is the Creator of everything that exists in the entire universe.
But in TRUTH, all of those verses speak of God’s NEW creation of His new creatures! And it was Almighty God the Father Himself who made the Son of MAN first, and the CROWNED His Human Son, Jesus Anointed, to receive all glory and power after the cross and resurrection!
I have written many long in-depth studies to answer every Trinitarian argument point by point. In those studies, I quoted their articles, then explained why their interpretations of the Scripture are in error.
That approach kept me on the defensive, having only my understanding of the Scriptures standing against their understanding of the Scripture. Thus, we were at a draw, a stalemate, they have their opinion and I have mine.
Now I write studies where the Scriptures themselves prove otherwise, allowing Scripture to speak for itself. Those who disagree must now attempt to debunk the plain testimony of the word of Almighty God and not my reasoning.
Each individual verse study presents only two choices: truth or error, right or wrong. Like a coin flip, the odds are fifty‑fifty, but the outcome depends entirely on whether one studies Scripture with Scripture for themselves or they rely on their own denominational literature.
Many denominations interpret through their own writings rather than through the inspired text, and that practice inevitably leads them straight back to what their church denomination believes and teaches.
My goal is to keep God’s message simple!
And in this verse study on Revelation 3:14, Almighty God alone is the Creator!and His Son is the faithful witness.
Jesus is the result and workmanship of His Creator. When this divine order is understood, every verse aligns perfectly, and the truth becomes undeniable.
Chapter 3.
Does Revelation 3:14 and 4:11 Prove that Jesus is the CREATOR?
In the verse study titled, “John 1:3 The True Sound Biblical Meaning”, we learned that the context of John 1:1-14 is speaking of God’s new creation of new creatures.
And in the verse study titled, “Does Ephesians 3:9 Prove that Jesus is the CREATOR?”, we learned that the context in that passage of Scripture was also about God’s NEW Creation.
And thus, neither of those passages of Scripture have anything to do with Jesus being the Creator of the universe or as being the Creator of God’s New Creation either.
But rather, it was BECAUSE of the obedience of the ANOINTED human Son of MAN, Jesus, that many other brethren can ALSO become the eternal Sons and daughters of God.
I will explain more of what I mean by this as you read this verse study on Revelation 3:14.
Let us begin by reading Revelation 3:14 so that you can also see that the context is about God’s new creation of believers in God’s Messiah, Jesus.
Revelation 3:14.
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things said the Amen, the FAITHFUL and TRUE WITNESS, the BEGINNING of the creation of God;”
The word “begin” means to start or to perform the first part of an action. And the action in this case is the CREATION of God. Therefore, it was the FAITHFUL and TRUE WITNESS who STARTED or who performed the FIRST part of the CREATION of God.
So then, the question becomes, “WHICH creation of God is this verse of Scripture talking about?”
Is it the creation of God in the eternity past as Trinitarian Christians, and the Jehovah’s Witnesses claim?
Or is it God’s NEW creation of PEOPLE being made NEW CREATURES of righteousness in Jesus the Messiah, BECAUSE of the obedience of the nointed Son of Man to obey all of his God and Father’s “Will” even to suffer and die on the cross?
What does the CONTEXT teach us? Well, to me, I have to ask the question, “WHY would a God the Son, the second person of a Godhead Trinity God need to be a FAITHFUL and TRUE WITNESS to begin the creation of God by creating the universe in the eternity past?”
I mean nothing but God Himself would have existed before the universe was created. So then, WHO was God the Son being a faithful and true witness to, if Trinitarians and the Jehovah’s Witnesses are correct by saying Jesus created the entire universe?
To me, their interpretation of Revelation 3:14 makes NO Logical sense whatsoever. And the LOGICAL answer is that Revelation 3:14 is speaking of God’s NEW creation of righteous humans.
And Jesus is the BEGINNING of God’s NEW CREATURES. In other words, the now glorified Son of Man is the FIRST New Creation of God to be made a HEIR to inherit the ages to come.
Does not Colossians 1:15 teach us that Jesus is the IMAGE of the invisible God, the FIRSTBORN of every CREATURE?
A “creature” is a CREATION of God!
And God conforming us in the IMAGE of Jesus, does not make us to be one and the selfsame being as the Son of Almighty God.
And does not Colossians 1:18 teach us that Jesus is the BEGINNING, the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD.
Let us go ahead and read those two verses of Scripture without verse 16,17, so that you can see the CONTEXT of Colossians 1:16,17 without your Trinitarian or Jehovah’s Witnesses glasses on.
“Who is the IMAGE of the invisible God, the firstborn of every CREATURE: (Or who is the firstborn from the DEAD of every new creature, the BEGINNING of the creation of God.
Again, a CREATURE is a creation of God. Therefore, Jesus is a CREATION of God and NOT the Creator of the entire universe as Trinitarian Christians and the Jehovah’s Witnesses claim)…
…Colossians 1:18. And he is the head of the BODY, the church: who is the BEGINNING, (OF the CREATION of God, according to Revelation 3:14 and its context if Revelation 1:5) the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD; (Or the STARTING of the firstborn of many BRETHREN to be made in the image of God, according to Romans, and Jesus is the FIRST human Son of God to enter into GLORY!) that in ALL [things] he might have the preeminence.
Colossians 1:20. And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him, to reconcile all things unto Himself; by him, I say, whether they are things in earth, or things in heaven.”
I highlighted the English word “things” in green to draw your attention to the fact that they are NOT in the original Greek text.
So then, a more correct translation would be as follows.
A more correct translation of Colossians 1:20.
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him, to RECONCILE ALL as many as whosoever ones (Who believe) unto Himself; by him, I say, whether they are the ONES upon earth, or the ONES in heaven.”
For you see, the Greek word “Pas” means ALL and the CONTEXT is speaking of PEOPLE being RECONCILED to the Father, and “not things” being reconciled.
But rather, it is the ALL of whosoever believes in Jesus as their Lord and Savior are the ONES who are reconciled, the ones who have died and are in heaven, and the ones alive on the earth.
In other words, some of the ONES who have been reconciled are up in heaven, while the ONES upon the earth are still being conformed into the IMAGE of Jesus, the BEGINNING of God’s NEW creation of righteous new creatures.
So then, clearly, Revelation 3:14 does NOT prove that Jesus is the Creator of the entire universe in the eternity past as Trinitarian Christians and Jehovah's Witnesses claim. But what about Revelation 4:11?
Revelation 4:11.
“You are worthy, O Lord, to RECEIVE glory and honor and power: for you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created.”
The first question that Trinitarian Christians should ask themselves is WHY would an already God the Son in the eternity past need to RECEIVE POWER?
The next thing is to look up the meanings of the Greek words.
For you see, we are reading a “translation” and not the original Greek text.
And the translators do not always use the most correct meanings of the Greek words in every verse of Scripture. Translators make mistakes at times.
And sadly, sometimes they are deliberate biased translations to support the doctrine of the Trinity.
So let us look up the meaning of TWO Greek words that are translated as “FOR your PLEASURE they are and were created”.
The Greek word translated as “FOR” also means BECAUSE of you “θέλημα”, which also means because of your CHOICE to submit your own will to do the will of your God and Father, the all who believe are and were created.
Let us now use these other meanings of these two Greek words to learn the TRUE SOUND Biblical meaning of Revelation 4:11 in the Light of the Whole word of Almighty God.
A more correct translation of Revelation 4:11.
“You are worthy, O Lord, to RECEIVE glory and honor and power: for you have created all things, and BECAUSE of your CHOICE they are and were created,”
Here is how the concordance in E-Sword defines the Greek word “θέλημα”, which is translated as your “pleasure”.
G2307
θέλημα
thelēma
thel’-ay-mah
From the prolonged form of G2309; a determination (properly the thing), that is, (actively) choice (specifically purpose, decree; abstractly volition) or (passively) inclination: – desire, pleasure, will.
And it is because of the CHOICE that the Son of MAN, Jesus made in the Garden of Gethsemane to obey his God and Father’s Will, saying NOT MY will, but Your Will be done, that the God of Jesus highly exalted him, according to Philippians 2:8-11.
It took DETERMINATION fighting against his own will to live and not die, that Jesus sweat great drops of blood agonizing in prayer to his God and Father.
So then, another question that Trinitarian Christians should ask themselves is. “WHY would an already God the Son need to be HIGHLY EXALTED by his God and Father?”
Philippians 2:8-11.
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Philippians 2:9. WHEREFORE (Or BECAUSE of the CHOICE that the Son of MAN, Jesus, made to OBEY his God and Father) God also has HIGHLY EXALTED him, and (Has) GIVEN him a NAME which is above every name:
Philippians 2:10. THAT (Or so THAT) at the NAME of Jesus (Speaking of the NEW NAME that God GAVE to His human Son, Jesus, so THAT) every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; (Or more correctly, the ONES in heaven, the ONES upon the earth, and the ONES under the earth will BOW down at the NEW NAME that the God and Father GAVE to His human Son, Jesus)
Philippians 2:11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
When Scripture is misinterpreted, the consequences reach far beyond academic debate!
Those incorrect interpretations strike at the very integrity of God’s own testimony.
If Numbers 23:19 and Hosea 11:1, 9 are true, then to conclude that God Himself became flesh is not a minor misunderstanding but a serious doctrinal contradiction.
It implies that the Creator could deny His own words, that the One who said “I am God and not man” could later become what He declared He is not. Such reasoning would make God appear changeable, even deceptive, which is an impossible notion for the Holy One who cannot lie.
The gravity of this error lies in confusing the Creator with the workmanship of His creation. God is the source, the origin, the One who speaks; the Son is the result of Yahweh performing His spoken word of Prophecy to bring “it” to pass.
Jesus is clearly the FULFILLMENT of the Scriptures, the FIRST faithful and truthful witness that Almighty God will use to judge the fallen Elohim.
To reverse that order written in the Scriptures is to blur the line between the divine Creator and His masterpiece. The Son’s glory is derived, not self‑originated. He is the reflection of the Father’s creative power and truth that proves what He Creates, He Creates PERFECT.
Therefore, every interpretation must preserve the distinction that Scripture itself maintains:
Almighty God the Father as being the Creator!
His Son is the faithful witness!
The firstborn of his God’s new creation!
Jesus is the First of the Firstfruits — the first to enter glory, raised by the power of the Father (1 Corinthians 15:20–23).
The Firstfruits are the result of creation, not the Creator Himself — they testify to God’s workmanship and purpose.
The Witness is the reflection of the Creator’s glory, not the origin of it (Philippians 2:11 — “to the glory of God the Father”).
The Son’s exaltation was given, not self‑claimed — “the God and Father gave to His human Son Jesus a new name” (Philippians 2:9 and Isaiah 62:2).
The Firstfruits pattern reveals divine order — God creates, then glorifies His creation; the Son is first among those glorified.
Misinterpreting this order reverses the testimony — it makes the workmanship appear as the Maker, which contradicts Numbers 23:19 and Hosea 11:9.
The faithful witness points back to the Creator, confirming His truth and righteousness through obedience and resurrection.
To teach otherwise is to undermine the very foundation of divine truth and to call into question the reliability of God’s own Word.
Before I conclude this verse study on Revelation 3:14, I want to point out that the meaning of the Greek word “arche” that is translated as “beginning” has other meanings.
And therefore, it does not have to be dogmatically translated as “the BEGINNING of the creation of God”.
Here are the definitions from the concordance in E-Sword.
G746
ἀρχή
archē
ar-khay'
From G756; (properly abstract) a commencement, or (concrete) chief (in various applications of order, time, place or rank): - beginning, corner, (at the, the) first (estate), magistrate, power, principality, principle, rule.
Total KJV occurrences: 58.
The English word “commencement” means the beginning or the START.
This Greek word also means the FIRST and the CHIEF.
And Jesus is the FIRST Son of MAN to be begotten from the DEAD and given eternal life to never die again.
The Father made Jesus the HEAD over the church. Jesus is the CORNER stone that God made the CHIEF corner stone. These are descriptive words rather than action words performing a task.
Therefore, I conclude that Revelation 3:14 is referring to the Son of Man, Jesus, as being the START of God’s church. And this interpretation AGREES with Colossians 1:18, which we already covered above. Click the link to read that again with my explanation. Or simply read the verse itself again.
Colossians 1:18.
“And he is the HEAD of the body, the church: who is the beginning, (Arche) the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
It is the same Greek word that also means FIRST, the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD, The FIRSTBORN among many brethren! The FIRSTBORN of every CREATURE made in the IMAGE of his God and Father.
And always remember that it was the God of Jesus who MADE him both Lord and Messiah AFTER the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:36, Matthew 28:18, Romans 1:4, and many other verses of Scripture that teach us WHEN the Lamb was found WORTHY to RECEIVE all POWER, glory and honor AFTER he was SLAIN, according to Revelation 5:12, the context of Revelation 4:11.
And always remember that it was the God of aJesus who MADE the Son of MAN both Lord and Messiah AFTER the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:36, Matthew 28:18, Romans 1:4,
These passages of Scripture, plus many which I “listed above”, teach us WHEN the Lamb was found WORTHY to RECEIVE all POWER, glory and honor AFTER he was SLAIN, according to Revelation 5:12, the context of Revelation 4:11.

And to me, the truth concerning who Jesus TRULY is, according to the Bible ITSELF, is the Biblical Unitarian view of Jesus.
Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
