A pickaxe made of coveted Lichenmetal, overgrowing the old tool are the telltale metallic frills of lichen that pulse with light seen in the few items forged with the rare ore.
The user can break through most stone at a rate of 5ft a turn when wielding the pick. When a tunnel is made, linking two areas together, the user must make a constitution saving throw of 15 or take 1d12 cold damage.

Lichenrot
+4 to hit, 1d12 + 4 piercing damage. When hit with the pick, the user can apply a debuff to the victim from the list below.
Sharpspore Lichen. Afflicted will take an extra 1d4 damage every time they are hurt.
Webbed Lichen. Any afflicted members will believe there are also 3 huge spiders in the fight. If an unaffected member wins a charisma contest with an affected member on their turn, they can convince them the spiders are not real.
Static Lichen. Any afflicted creature within arms reach of any another creature afflicted by Static Lichen takes 1d12 lightning damage at the end of the turn of combat.
Blinding Lichen. Anyone afflicted must flip a coin when they attack. If heads, they are fine. If tails, they have a -4 to hit (as in, roll and add proficiencies etc. and then -4).
