How does your art change when you study art?
How does art school change your artistic work?
What differences can be seen between your application portfolio and your works created after several years at art school?
We analyze your works created before and after several years at art school using computer-based image analysis – and show you which changes become visible. At the same time, you are supporting an exciting research project: We want to find out whether similar developments can be observed across art students – and whether art schools might even differ from one another. In short: What is the “Art School Effect”?
For this, we are looking for interested art students, especially in painting, drawing, and all forms of work that can be represented in two dimensions.
Take part and discover: What did art school change about your art?

Art student uplaod their works from before art school (e.g. application portfolio) and recent works created after several years at art school.
The images are analyzed using computer-based methods that automatically assess different aesthetic metrics (e.g., measures of composition, lighting).
If you wish, you can receive the results of the image analysis of your artworks.
We are looking for as many art students from different art schools as possible to find out, what differences we can make visible.
