Tharindu D. Ponnimbaduge Perera (IEEE Member '17) received the B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Computer Science (first class) and M.Sc. from the Department of Computing, Faculty of ACES, Sheffield Hallam University, UK. He completed his Ph. D. studies in Computer Science and Wireless communications from the Infocomm Lab, School of Computer Science and Robotics, National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia and successfully defended the Ph. D work in Dissertation Council-55.2.004.01 at the Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications. He has been awarded a full-time scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Russian Federation for Ph. D. studies. From 2014-2016 he was a Lecturer at the Department of Software Engineering, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Sri Lanka. From 02.2016 to 02.2017 he served as a University Associate, the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Curtin University, Perth Western Australia. From 01.2017 to 12.2021 he worked as a research engineer with the Infocomm Lab, School of Computer Science and Robotics, National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia. Also, he worked as a Senior Lecturer & research scientist at Center for Telecommunication Research (CTR), School of Postgraduate Studies & Research, Sri Lanka Technological Campus, Sri Lanka and he also works as a franchise teacher in Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), UK starting from Sep. 2021. He also served as the Program Lead of MSc in Wireless Communication program offered by LJMU. Currently, he is working as a Research Officer in the Research Services Unit of Faculty of Engineering & IT, University of Melbourne. His research interests include information and communication theory, optimization theory, simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) & RF energy harvesting, UAV-assisted communications.
