Teaching Philosophy
“To teach is to touch the future” - a friend in my Ph.D. program at Oklahoma State University once told me when I prepared for my first teaching experience. That philosophy imprinted in my mind about the role of an instructor: not only to deliver knowledge but also to grow the passion for knowledge. From that point on, I have never stopped thinking about ways to turn students into independent learners whose education continues when they step out of the classroom.
Teaching Approach
Semester-long projects for students to apply knowledge gained in class into solving real-life problems.
Frequent in-class discussions.

I strive to develop and maintain a strong network with academics and practitioners, particularly in Vietnam, by providing consulting sessions to managers and executives, and delivering short courses (virtual) to the data analytics teams. I am also a mentor and judge for numerous social entrepreneurial programs and contests for undergraduate and high school students, such as the Teen Entrepreurship Bootcamp (TEB) hosted by the Enactus organization of Foreign Trade University - Hanoi.
Out of work, I like playing sports, especially team sports (soccer, basketball). I am also a big fan of fishing, particularly dam fishing (fishing for striped bass, hybrid striped bass, white bass under the dam). In addition, our little family loves exploring old histories and new cultures, so we travel frequently.
