Thais research interests include policy evaluation, climate economics, food systems, justice, environmental/ecological economics, economic modelling and international trade.
She is a postdoctoral associate in the Food Systems & Global Change research group in the Department of Global Development at Cornell University, working on the EAT-Lancet 2.0 report. Former research fellow at the School of Economics, Business and Accounting (FEA) of the University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil) (2021-2023), she collaborated in studies developed at the Center for Epidemiological Research in Nutrition and Health (NUPENS/USP, Brazil) during this period, also representing NUPENS in the Food Policy Program Brazil (supported by the Global Health Advocacy Incubator). She was a member of the Regional and Urban Economics Lab (NEREUS/USP, Brazil) and the USP Sustainability (USP Susten) program (SGA/USP). Worked as a consultant for the World Bank Group (Washington D.C., the US) and UNCTAD. Former postdoctoral researcher at Centre International de Recherche sur l'Environnement et le Développement (CIRED), France (2019-2020). PhD in Applied Economics at the Atlantic Technological University Sligo (2018), Ireland. Master (2014) and Bachelor (2011) in Economics at UNESP Araraquara, Brazil.
