Hey y'all, I just recently finished an adult driver's ed course plus the ITYD thing, and I'm having some issues scheduling an appointment to officially get my license. I tried signing up for an appointment through the online scheduler, but the options for driver license services and road skills tests are all grayed out. Do I just select the "I am required to take a road test" button to schedule??

I emailed the DPS and they said to choose the "Service is not listed" option, but I talked to someone at the DPS for my parents' appointment and they specifically recommended against that. Another mom leaving the same driver's license office didn't go on camera but told CBS Austin she was furious, shouting expletives, after taking her son out of school and driving up from San Antonio only to learn their appointment was cancelled and they hadn't gotten a notification.

"We had had an appointment. We checked in. Within like two minutes we got our stuff done," said Anish Acharya. His appointment was scheduled for 2:15 -- just minutes after appointments statewide finally resumed.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to experience an outage to its driver license system after trying to update it over Labor Day weekend. The issue continues to impact driver license services across the state a week after the updates were first supposed to be installed.
