Wild Dracons can be currently found rarely in deserts, spawning on sand or sandstone at light levels of 7 or higher, the weather doesn't affect light level requirements.
Wild Dracons have a 75% chance to spawn as the Dracoryth class and 25% chance to spawn as the Virelayn class.
Dracons will currently spawn randomly as Sunscale, Dusksand, Pineclaw, or Veilshade variants.
Upon successful breeding, 1–7XP is dropped.
Raw dracon will only drop when not on fire and not killed with a weapon enchanted with Fire Aspect.
Cooked dracon will only drop when on fire or killed with a weapon enchanted with Fire Aspect.
Dracon scutes will be the same variant to the mob.
Upon death, dracons will drop 1-3XP when killed by player or tamed mob. However, tamed dracons will drop no experience when killed.
Draconlings will drop no experience when killed.
Dracons will occasionally walk or run around in the world. Draconlings will occasionally follow adult dracons while newborn draconlings will follow both older draconlings and adult Dracons.
Dracons will panic when taking damage, though this depends on their priorities and situations. Dracons will not panic if they have a target or are being targeted.
Adult dracons will occasionally sit down or stand up randomly when not doing anything else.
Wild Dracons have different behaviours depending on their age. Newborn draconlings are passive unless hurt by target. Old draconlings will be neutral to players and other mobs, but will be hostile to mobs such as armadillos, arthropods, chickens, cows, deers, parrots, pigs, rabbits, and wolves. Adults meanwhile will be hostile towards mobs such as camels, cows, donkeys , llamas, horses, mules, pigs, sheep, and wolves. Adults will also be hostile towards players and wandering traders at a distance of 20 blocks, they'll prioritise you more than the other mobs.
Trained Dracons will be hostile towards monsters and undead mobs at a distance of 16 blocks.
Dracons have different ways of attacking and moving throughout the world. Though currently only 2 types are available.
Draconlings will stalk and pounce their target by sneaking then sprinting towards the target and will also do melee attacks. They will occasionally switch to a range attack in which they'll back up from the target at least 4 blocks, and start spitting dracon acid towards the target.
Dracons will mainly do melee attacks and will move faster towards the target. They will occasionally switch to a range attack in which they'll back up from the target at least 8 blocks, and start spitting dracon acid balls towards the target.
Dracons have different ways to be trained depending on their age.
Dracons will follow you if you're holding an item they are tempted with, depending on their age or if they're trained or wild.
The number of items required is random: each item has a 1⁄3 chance of successfully training the dracon.
Newborn draconlings can be trained to trust you by feeding them any type of meat, excluding rotten flesh and fish. They will also follow you when holding draconic crumble, but you can't use it for them.
Wild draconlings can be trained to trust you by feeding them with draconic crumble.
Trained adult dracons will only follow when holding draconic corfruit.
After successfully feeding to make them trust you, draconlings will follow you and you can command them to sit or stand accordingly. Adult dracons however will currently not follow you or be commanded to sit or stand.
You can heal your trained dracon using draconic crumble or any type of meat, excluding rotten flesh and fish.
Draconlings can be fed these items to make them grow. See growth table here.
When your trained draconling grows up into an adult dracon, you will be able to equip armour on them by interacting with dracon armour. You can remove the armour by using shears on the dracon. Only the owner of the trained dracon can interact with them, otherwise they'll be aggravated.
Trained dracons can be ridden once they're adults. You can equip them with the draconic saddle to be ridden. The trained dracon can be ridden by anyone even if they're not the owner.
Once you equipped the draconic saddle onto your trained dracon and ride them, you can control them using WASD or input buttons for walking forwards, back, left, or right.
On ground: To make your dracon take off from the ground, you will have to look up to at least 22.5 degrees or higher, the dracon will then proceed to fly up.
When flying: You may look up 22.5 degrees or higher to fly up and to go down you'll have to look down 35 degrees or lower.
Looking up 67.5 degrees or higher will make the dracon fly higher faster.
When riding the dracon, you can press the jump button to start shooting dracon acid.
Dracons will shoot different types of projectiles depending on their age or when they're on the ground or in the air.
Draconlings will shoot dracon acid once every interval when attacking.
Dracons when attacking or being ridden will shoot dracon acid balls when on the ground or dracon acid when on the air.
Dracon when shooting dracon acid ball will consume 1 spitfire amount. Dracon acid will always be shot 3 times than dracon acid balls, but will still only consume 1 spitfire amount.
Spitfire amount will only start replenishing once it's no longer in cooldown after use.
Dracon will take 1 second intervals when shooting dracon acid and 2 seconds intervals when shooting dracon acid balls.
Dracons at full health can be bred with the draconic corfruit. There is a 5-minute cooldown for breeding, during which the dracon does not accept the item. After breeding, one of them will get pregnant.
Upon successful breeding, the pregnant dracon will proceed to return to their home position and find a nest block in a radius range of 24 blocks and height of 8 blocks.
Nest blocks that the Dracon will look for are hay bales, fibre bales, stalk bales, and straw bales.
Upon reaching the nest block, the pregnant dracon will attempt to stay on top and lay the eggs there. The amount of eggs are randomised from 1-4 and will be the same variant to the pregnant parent.
If somehow they can't lay the eggs, they'll return to their home position and try again until they finally positioned themselves correctly on top of the nest block.
