CAR PLAY CONNECT TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Car Play Connect ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Car Play Connect app ("the App"). Please read the Safety section (Section 3) carefully.
By downloading, accessing, or using Car Play Connect, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. ELIGIBILITY
You must be a licensed driver (or an authorized passenger) and at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Car Play Connect. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
2. WHAT CAR PLAY CONNECT IS, AND IS NOT
Car Play Connect turns your iPhone into a supplementary driving display: navigation preview, radio and music, phone dialing, weather, a GPS speedometer, editable widgets, and connection shortcuts.
Car Play Connect is not, and must not be relied upon as:
- A replacement for native Apple CarPlay. For vehicles that have CarPlay, Car Play Connect only projects audio templates.
- A tool to remotely unlock, start, or control your vehicle.
- A source of real vehicle diagnostics. There is no OBD integration; the App never displays fabricated fuel, tire-pressure, oil, or fault data.
- A certified or legal measuring instrument (see Section 5).
3. SAFETY AND DRIVING RESPONSIBILITY
You are solely and fully responsible for driving safely and lawfully.
- Complete all setup and configuration before you begin driving, and mount your device securely.
- Do not interact with the App in a manner that distracts you from driving. Glance only when safe and legal.
- Obey all traffic laws, road signs, and conditions. Car Play Connect's readings (speed, navigation, weather, and so on) are informational aids only and do not replace your vehicle's own instruments, your judgment of road conditions, or your legal obligations.
- Never let the App's content cause you to violate the law or drive unsafely.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any accident, injury, citation, or loss arising from your use of the App while driving.
4. SERVICE DESCRIPTION
Car Play Connect provides, depending on your configuration and permissions:
- Drive mode (landscape): live map, GPS speedometer, weather, now-playing, and configurable card layouts.
- Navigation: in-app Apple MapKit map and route preview, with optional hand-off to Apple Maps or Google Maps.
- Audio: internet radio (via radio-browser), local audio (AVPlayer), Apple Music (MusicKit, requires your subscription), and optional Spotify (official SDK, requires the Spotify app and account).
- Phone: dialing via the system dialer (tel: URLs); Car Play Connect does not place calls itself.
- Widgets: WidgetKit home-screen widgets and, on supported systems, CarPlay Dashboard widgets.
- Shortcuts: App Intents and Siri Shortcuts to open drive mode, connect, or disconnect.
Features depend on device capabilities, iOS version, permissions you grant, and third-party availability. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
5. SPEED, NAVIGATION, AND DATA ACCURACY DISCLAIMER
- The speedometer and 0-60 timer are derived from GPS and are informational only. They are not certified, legal, or calibrated measuring instruments, and may be inaccurate or unavailable (for example, in tunnels, urban canyons, or with weak signal). When the signal is weak, the App shows a "weak signal" state rather than a fabricated value.
- Navigation, maps, weather, station lists, and other content are provided by third parties; their accuracy, completeness, and availability are not guaranteed and are outside our control.
- Do not rely on the App for any purpose where inaccurate data could cause harm.
6. SUBSCRIPTIONS (CAR PLAY CONNECT PRO)
Car Play Connect offers an optional Pro subscription unlocking premium features. The free tier remains genuinely usable.
- Billing. Pro is sold through the Apple App Store. Pricing, subscription period, and any free-trial length are shown to you at the point of purchase and may vary by region.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, and the subscription converts to a paid auto-renewing subscription at the disclosed price when the trial ends.
- Manage and cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings, under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions, on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Restore. Previously purchased entitlements can be restored via the Restore Purchases control in the App.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies; we do not process payments or issue refunds directly.
7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND CONTENT
The App relies on third-party services (radio-browser, Apple, optional Google Maps, optional Spotify) for certain content and functionality. Their content, availability, and accuracy are not within our control, and your use of them is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or services.
8. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except as permitted by law.
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the App or any third-party service it connects to.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App without authorization.
- Use the App to harass, harm, or infringe the rights of others.
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The App and its original content, features, design, and software are owned by Car Play Connect and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose. Third-party trademarks, vehicle brand marks, and station logos remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data (including speed, location, navigation, or weather) will be accurate.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Car Play Connect be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Car Play Connect from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property) survive.
14. APPLE-REQUIRED TERMS
These Terms are between you and Car Play Connect only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. To the extent the App is a "Licensed Application" under Apple's standard EULA, the following apply:
- This license is granted for use only on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- In case of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Car Play Connect, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App (product liability, legal or regulatory non-conformance, consumer protection, intellectual-property claims, and the like).
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and that you are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.

15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. We will revise the "Last Updated" date and make the current version available in-app (Settings, then Terms of Service). Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
16. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and any dispute will be handled by a court of competent jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence continue to apply.
