Tennis Circle is a mobile application that helps adult tennis players find courts, plan play, connect with other players, share court information, and communicate through in-app messaging.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Tennis Circle collects, how that information is used and shared, the choices available to users, and how to contact us about privacy, support, safety, or account deletion.
Depending on the features you use, Tennis Circle may collect or process the following information:
Your name or display name.
Your email address.
Your user or account ID.
Your date of birth, used to confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
Profile information you choose to provide, such as gender, age range, skill level, play style, availability, playing frequency, biography, city, and whether you are looking to play.
Location information used to find nearby tennis courts and players.
Court or location search terms and the approximate search area needed to return relevant results.
Saved courts and planned-play information.
User-generated content, including court discussions, direct messages, court conditions, court updates, planned-play notes, reactions, and reports.
Information related to reporting, blocking, moderation, and other community-safety features.
An optional profile-avatar photo selected through Apple’s photo picker.
Notification preferences and an Apple Push Notification service device token if you enable notifications.
Limited onboarding milestones, including signup started, verification requested, initial sign-in, and profile completion.
Tennis Circle records limited onboarding milestones to understand where users leave the account-setup process and to improve onboarding.
These milestones are stored only as aggregate daily counts by event and app version. They do not include names, email addresses, user IDs, precise locations, or device identifiers and are not maintained as individual user histories.
We use collected information to:
Create, authenticate, and manage user accounts.
Confirm that users meet the 18-or-older age requirement.
Display and update player profiles.
Show nearby tennis courts and location-based features.
Help users discover and connect with other tennis players.
Provide saved courts, planned play, court discussions, court conditions, and direct messaging.
Restore profile avatars after sign-in.
Send relevant push notifications when users enable them.
Provide reporting and blocking tools.
Review reports, prevent abuse, and maintain community safety.
Provide support and process account-deletion requests.
Understand aggregate onboarding performance and improve account setup.
Maintain, secure, and improve the application.
Tennis Circle may use your device’s location to show nearby tennis courts and help identify players within a relevant search area.
Your precise device location is not displayed to other players. If you add a city to your profile, that city may be stored with your account and displayed according to your player-discovery settings.
Court and location searches may be processed by Apple mapping services or OpenStreetMap/Overpass to return relevant results. Tennis Circle does not maintain a personal history of your court or location searches.
You can control location access through your device’s privacy settings.
Registered users appear in player search only when Show Me in Player Search is enabled.
Your Looking to Play setting tells other players whether you are open to being contacted. You may also choose whether planned-play notices display your name or appear anonymously.
Tennis Circle includes user-generated content such as profiles, messages, court discussions, court conditions, planned-play notes, reactions, and reports.
Court discussions and other public or shared court activity may be visible to other users. Direct messages are visible to the participants in the conversation.
Do not submit private, sensitive, illegal, unsafe, harassing, or inappropriate information through public or shared areas of the app.
Tennis Circle provides direct messages and court discussion features. Messages are used to provide communication features and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Users may report messages, profiles, court information, and other content. Users may also block other players to limit unwanted contact.
Reports may be reviewed and retained as reasonably necessary for moderation, safety, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
If you choose a profile-avatar photo using Apple’s photo picker, the selected image is uploaded to Tennis Circle’s backend storage and linked to your account. This allows the avatar to appear on your profile and be restored after you sign in on another supported device.
Tennis Circle does not access your entire photo library through this feature.
If you enable notifications, Tennis Circle may store an Apple Push Notification service device token and your notification preferences.
You may disable all notifications through iOS Settings. You may also control individual notification categories from Account Settings within Tennis Circle.
Tennis Circle:
Does not display third-party advertisements.
Does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Does not sell personal information.
Does not share personal information with data brokers.
Does not use messages or profile information for targeted advertising.
Tennis Circle uses third-party services to provide app functionality:
Supabase provides authentication, database storage, profile-avatar storage, messaging infrastructure, password-reset functionality, account-related features, and aggregate onboarding analytics.
Apple MapKit and Core Location provide maps, location permission, geocoding, court searches, nearby results, and directions.
Apple Push Notification service delivers optional push notifications.
Apple’s photo picker allows users to select an optional profile-avatar photo.
OpenStreetMap and Overpass may provide tennis-court discovery results.
These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services. We require service providers processing user information on our behalf to protect it consistently with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Account, profile, avatar, messaging, report, saved-court, planned-play, court-condition, notification, and related information is retained while your account is active or for as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide Tennis Circle’s features.
Maintain community safety and moderation records.
Prevent fraud or abuse.
Resolve disputes and support requests.
Comply with legal obligations.
Onboarding analytics are retained only as aggregate daily counts by milestone and app version. They are not retained as individual account or device histories.
You may delete your account from Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account. You may also request assistance by contacting us at support@tenniscircle.app
When an account is deleted:
The Tennis Circle authentication account is deleted.
The profile avatar is removed from Tennis Circle’s storage.
Saved courts, notification tokens and preferences, planned-play records, court conditions, and other account-owned records are deleted where applicable.
Personal profile details are removed or anonymized.
Message content associated with the deleted account may be replaced with a notice such as “Message removed” to preserve conversation integrity.
Certain anonymized information may be retained when reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, legal compliance, or preventing abuse.
Local account information is removed from the device and the user is signed out.
Aggregate onboarding counts are not affected because they do not contain account or device identifiers.
Depending on the feature, you may:
Update your profile information from Account Settings.
Disable player discovery.
Turn off the Looking to Play setting.
choose whether your name appears on planned-play notices.
Disable push notifications or individual notification categories.
Change location permission through iOS Settings.
Remove or replace your profile avatar.
Block other users.
Delete your account from Account Settings.
Tennis Circle is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. Users must provide their date of birth to confirm eligibility.
We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to use Tennis Circle. If you believe an underage person has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect user information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
We may update this Privacy Policy when Tennis Circle’s features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will display a revised effective date.
