• Do not ship with USPS (United States Post) to this address! It won't arrive during school holiday. UPS, FedEx, etc are ok...

• You can only ship to the school during the workshop! Otherwise there is nobody there to sign off you package and store it for you!

• Do not use a condo address as delivery address for Amazon or Walmart or any other internet provider!  See notes from Jon Tapson below. Except for a few special addresses like the schoolhouse,  these companies will drop a pallet of packages at the post office (USPS) in Telluride and the post office will just return them to the sender.  (Theere are no house mailboxes in Telluride, all mail goes to post office boxes in the post office.). However see next section on General Delivery.

Telluride General Delivery

Another option for shipping is to send things to general delivery via US postal service. Send your package as shown below; it will be held up to 30 days. You just need to come by and collect it. But do not include the street address or postage will be charged twice! You can also try to ship with FedEx, or UPS this way (DHL not recommended) (specifying gen'l delivery) but they usually require an explicit street address - this address will cause the USPS to charge postage. (This is according to a conversation with someone at the Telluride post office.). Amazon passes packages to USPS in Telluride for delivery except for a few special addresses.

Explanation of Telluride postal system: USPS (the federal postal system, the Post Office) does not do street delivery, everyone in Telluride has a PO Box.  If you USPS something to a street address, it gets returned to sender.  Courier companies (FedEx, UPS -  DHL not recommended) will do street delivery, but their standing instructions are that if it is not specified to leave stuff at the door - no signature required - they take it to the Post Office (I have no idea why).  Because there is no PO Box address, they then return it to sender.  So I suggest:

• Use UPS or FedEx if you can

• Specify no signature required, leave at door

• Do NOT send USPS (regular mail) to the School street address, use General Delivery, see above.
