Personal data that we collect

Information provided by you:

User profile: When you voluntarily register a user profile with TelGuarder, we collect personal data provided by you, such as phone number, name, address, gender, photo, email address and webpage. You can opt to omit certain details, but in that case, you may not be able to register a user profile, or you may not have access to all TelGuarder functions.

Information collected about you:

TelGuarder will request permission to access specific capabilities or information on your device.

You may choose to grant us permission to access or not, but without access you may be unable to utilize all functions in TelGuarder. When you use Telguarder, to the extent you provide us permission to access, we will collect the following:

CallerID / Call logs / SMS: To look up information about unknown numbers for incoming calls, outgoing calls, SMS and call logs the app needs to send phone numbers to our servers. Unique phone numbers from the call log and SMS are sent to our servers to add crowdsourced information like name, call type, comments from other users, etc.

Contacts: The aim of accessing your contacts is to protect you wherever possible from undesirable calls, at the same time as we ensure that important calls are not lost or blocked. If you voluntarily grant us with access to your contacts, you help us filter out calls that might be blocked, but which you have stored on your phone (such as the doctor's surgery). We also use the contacts to display the name you usually see, and to increase the quality of our database. You can opt not to grant access to your contacts, in which case you may not be able to utilize all functions.

How we use your contacts
For incoming/outward calls we collect the name from your contact list to display in the call window so that you recognise the name. After a call we save the number and name from the contact list in an encrypted and anonymised form on our servers.

What we do not do with your contacts
Your contacts will not be shared directly with other service users. We attempt to match your collected data with our number data from other sources. The data is used to aggregate and verify the identity of a number.

Telephone calls: Used solely to capture phone numbers for incoming and outward calls to run a search in our databases.

Your messages: Used solely to run searches for unknown phone numbers under "SMS History", and only if the user actively uses this function. No messages are read or used in any other way. This access can also be used after installation to verify your own number.

Your personal data: Reading and writing to the contact list is used to display the contact's name for the caller id function, and to save an entry in the contact list (provided the user actively opts to save or update a contact).

Network communication: Used to check network access, and to search for an unknown number, or search for firms and individuals in the service.

Paid services: From an entry you can opt to place a call from the application. No calls are placed without the user's consent.

System tools: Used to display "See who's calling" function.

Our services also collects data needed for the proper functioning of the service:

We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical, technical or demographic data for any purpose (e.g. operating system, app version, device model). Aggregated Data may be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific feature. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Location: When you visit the mobile application, we may use GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location in order to prioritize results nearby and provide route planner in maps.

IP address: every request to our servers contain metadata like IP-address, but this information is crypted/hashed into a unique identifier which is not traceable back to a specific person. The request itself is encrypted via HTTPS.
