Hi, I recently subscribed to Telenor (ISP) fiber internet here in Norway. I previously had cable internet with coaxial TV connections. With Telenors fiber network, coaxial connections to TVs are no longer possible. All TVs need to be connected to the home network via ethernet when connected as IPTVs. This works fine when using the Telenor-supplied Zyxel P8702N router. The router connects to a T-We decoder and then to the TV. However, I have a state-of-the-art Netgear Orbi mesh system which includes a RBR50 router. I would think the RBR50 is technically capable of handling IPTV but am having problems. I am trying to connect as follows:

Thanks ekhalil, Interesting to hear about the Swedish guy with the same problem. As mentioned, I tried setting up a VLAN connection as described in the Orbi instructions, but then lost my Internet connection (just like the Swedish guy). Guess Ill need to set a different VLAN ID etc. Im not too sure about the concept of tagging or untagged.

There is absolutely no meaning to do factory reset if you will then restore the data from a backup. A factory reset is needed to clean possible data corruption, making a backup/restore when factory resetting will just have 0 effect!

I performed a factory reset today and ran PingPlotter before doing a restore with my configuration file. This time, no packet loss problems with the router. Then I restored the router with my backed-up configuration file and checked again with PingPlotter (target www.google.com). Again the problem with serious packet loss every 10 minutes. I noticed that before my restore, the router was setup with IPv4 only (no packet loss problem). My configuration file included IPv6 and PingPlotter was using the routers IPv6 address when pinging (packet loss problem). I therefore disabled IPv6 in my configuration and eureka, no more packet loss problem. Is this a ISP (telenor) problem or local at my router? The guy who installed the fiber cable and ONT specifically told me that IPv6 had to be enabled in my router. I still have the IPTV problem but it is working a lot better.

Great that you are network is getting better! It can be that the ipv6 settings are not correctly set, are you sure that all settings you have in the ipv6 page are correct and aligned with what your ISP is offering. Here is an ipv6 guide for Nighthawk routers but it should also be good for Orbi:

Profile name:  1

APN: internet

User name: Telenor

Password:  Telenor

Type of sign-in info: tag_hash_111

IP type: IPv4

Profile name: Telenor WAP 1

APN: internet

User name: tag_hash_115

Password:

Type of sign-in info: None

IP type: IPv4

There is an issue that might be close to this issue here -to-non-working-mobile-data-change-apn/ but I have no settings for "APN". The only thing close to this setting is "MMS access point", but I do not think that has anything with to do with this issue?

Only thing I did was giving the modem's MAC address to the cable ISP and waited for some time. During this initial period while waiting for my ISP to register the MAC address, I did have a working internet connection (ipv4+ipv6), but capped to 1 mbit/s. After waiting 30 minutes or so, I presume that the modem got registered by the ISP, since the (slow) internet connection cut out and I got left with an ipv6-only connection. This is where I am today.

Took another look in the administration interface of the Technicolor TC4400-EU cable modem, as far as I can tell possibilities to configure it is virtually non-existent. This video (in german) does an overview of the admin interface, relevant parts are between 1:25-3:40 min. Ignore the video host, but by quickly skipping through the video you can get a feel for the available settings in the interface.

Check that Cellular Data is turned on.

Tap Cellular Data Options and then Cellular Data Network

(If this setting does not appear it cannot be configured manually. Please contact the seller.)

Access Point Name (APN) settings allow your mobile router to establish a connection to your carrier's network and access the Internet. APN settings must be configured for your specific carrier so that your mobile router works correctly.

With most carriers, your Nighthawk M6 or M6 Pro automatically completes APN settings based on the carrier SIM card that you use. However, some carriers might require you to manually complete the APN settings. This article provides information about manually setting up an APN on your Nighthawk M6 or M6 Pro for worldwide carriers.

After saving the APN settings, your mobile router will attempt to connect to your carrier's network using the values that you entered. Wait for a few moments for your device to establish a connection, then check your device's LCD user interface or status indicators to see if it connected successfully. You can also check your connection by visiting a website on a device that is connected to your mobile router.

The APN setting is the gateway between your carrier's cellular network and the public Internet. The APN setting - if not set automatically by the user's OS - has to be set by the user to enable the use of the mobile Internet on the phone.

One of the biggest actively maintained open (Creative Commons Public Domain) database of mobile broadband service providers and their APN settings is maintained by the Gnome project, and is available in their serviceproviders.xml. It is a rare case, when you don't find your own provider in that list, but if it happens, then please consider contributing to it upstream. If your provider is in that database, then for setting up the APN, you only have to select your provider from the list under Settings > Network > Network Dropdown > Add new connection.

APN settings are either located in Settings > Mobile > Access Point Names (Arch Linux ARM, PureOS, Debian + Phosh) or Settings > Network > Network Dropdown > Add new connection (postmarketOS, Fedora).

Visible does not have any way to approve unsupported phones, it might be possible through APN settings, but requires more research and dev time. Even activating a SIM using a supported phone, and then moving it to the Pinephone does not work.

Telenor APN settings for Microsoft Windows 10 are given below. But if you are looking for Telenor APN settings for different version of Windows such as Windows 8, Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 please select your exact device modal below.

If the above Telenor Internet APN settings do not work on your Windows device, make below changes to Telenor Internet APN settings to get Telenor WAP on your Windows device.

On Windows, APN settings should be entered in correct case. For example, if you are configuring your APN setting with Telenor Internet APN settings configuration above, make sure you enter APN as internet and not as INTERNET or Internet. If entering Telenor MMS to your Windows device, APN should be entered as mms and not as MMS or Mms.

A factory reset is an excellent way to clean your phone from junk files and fix all the glitches. But sometimes, after a factory reset, you may experience an internet connectivity issue. There may be many reasons for this as your Android phone network settings change after a factory reset. e24fc04721
