Messaging platform Telegram is now offering a version of its app that can be directly downloaded from its website. This way, you skip the Google Play Store and download Telegram as an APK on your Android phone.

Did anyone install the direct download version of the android app? Is there anything different from the play store version? Technically in their blog they say that the direct downloadable app is updated more frequently, it has less restrictions and it has a built in updater.

If you are not using direct link and your bot is not supposed to send links in a telegram group, i.e used only in its private chat, then you can use inline keyboard option and add a web_app: web_link_with_params. I have downloaded the Telegram project from the following repository ( ) and I have edited the BuildVars.java to put my APP_ID and APP_HASH, and also I have registered in hockeyapp.net to have get the HOCKEY_APP_HASH. And now, when I run the project it stops having an Exception. As I see, it says that "org.telegram.messenger.ApplicationLoader" is not found. But it is there in "java/org/telegram/messenger/" folder. Please help me to figure out this problem.

On my Android phone, I removed my Telegram Android app from the Google Play store and replaced it with the downloaded Telegram Android app directly from the Telegram website, Telegram for Android. My Android phone made me turn on permission to install unknown apps in order to do that, and keep that permission enabled so I could receive the updates from Telegram.

Navalny's spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh called the block and the deletion of the tactical voting app from app stores "censorship [...] imposed by private companies".[357] In a later blog post, Durov directly stated that the block was a result of pressure from Google and Apple as refusal to comply with their policies would result "in an immediate shutdown of Telegram for millions of users". The post included a screenshot showing an internal email sent by the App Store to developers, demanding the takedown of content related to Navalny.[358]

The attack chain begins with unsuspecting users clicking on fraudulent ads on Google search results that lead to hundreds of sketchy YouTube channels, which then direct them to lookalike Telegram and WhatsApp websites.

"People who wish to use these services have to resort to indirect means of obtaining them," the researchers said. "Unsurprisingly, this constitutes a ripe opportunity for cybercriminals to abuse the situation."

It is true some scammer already use telegram and registered as famous person, like Timothy Sykes, on his Bio, it is exactly like Timothy Sykes, and he will promise you that he can turn $1400 into $5000 within few hours and ask you to sent 0.128 BTC, worth $1500 to his BTC address! never do it! after you sent the BTC to him, he will tell you he already made $7000, now want to release to you, in order to do so, the scammer ask you to sent additional 0.1 BTC, worth $1100 to his different BTC wallet! I hope FBI do the investigation to arrest this scammer! I am one of the victimes!. not sure how many victims on the telegram! watch out!

I was approached by a lad on Facebook dating he asked me to get telegram which I did two weeks of chatting he said he needed money I said no when I checked his phone number it was a scammers number from Denmark he even chatted on the phone he deleted him self after I said no to money

The modern smartphone has advanced far beyond making calls. It now offers new ways to connect with friends, family, and business partners through a multitude of direct messaging platforms. One of the most popular messaging services is Telegram for its speed, cross-platform integration, and global availability. But is Telegram safe to use? The short answer is: not by default, but Telegram could be safe to use for most people. Unfortunately, despite the protective features the platform boasts, you have to consciously arm your Telegram account with encryption and use secret messages with every new chat for any solid protection.

To set up, you need to create a Telegram Bot and know its API key / token. You also need to know the chat ID of the chat you want to send messages to. This can be a direct chat (for example just to you) or the chat ID of a group (for announcing to multiple people).

Bi-directional communication (issuing commands to a Telegram bot) is very possible, either through polling (leading to delays), or telegram can notify using webhooks for nearly instant communication. I'm one day into using Hubitat, so I'm not sure yet if there's an easy way to expose a public endpoint for Telegram to call, so webhooks may be more challenging to implement. 2351a5e196
