The Division of Land Development and Water Resources performs facilitation roles for increased use of land and water resources for agriculture purposes in Liberia. It further supports the use of water for irrigation purposes for lowland crops and conducts land capability studies on agricultural lands.
Specifically the Division is tasked to:
Ensure sustainable management of land and water resources for agriculture and food production, mainstreaming environmental challenges and combating climate change impacts affecting food and agriculture productivity.
Strengthen collaboration through an integrated approach with key land and water authorities and users.
Support technical policy framework for the development and promotion of land use plans for both up and lowland ecologies.
The Division also provides technical advisory services on the operation, management, and repairs of agro-equipment.
Advise on the selection of appropriate agro-machines.
Train agro-equipment operators.
