The objective of the Deputy Minister for Technical Services is to support the overall Functioning and strategic directions of the Ministry as related to Technical Services.

• Overseeing Technical operations, infrastructure, and services within the Ministry

• Advises the Minister on all matters regarding the Department of Technical Services

• Collaborating with other Departments to ensure efficient Technical support

• Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the department and divisions

• Developing and implementing policies related to Technical Matters

• Managing Technical projects and initiatives

• Representing the Ministry in Technical Forums and Meetings

• Providing expert advice to the Minister and Senior leadership

• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards

• Ensures access to agricultural services by farmers and users

• Supervises proposal development for funding support for activities in the sector

• Oversees the development of comprehensive annual work plans for the department

• Promotes staff development and welfare for effective service delivery

• Coordinates the recruitment, postings, promotions, training and discipline of staff
