5 Stages of Technology Adoption

Types are growing rapidly in schools around the world, each of which is painful and inevitable. I speak of the way, almost of the integration of technology.

Maybe your pride is using a COW (Computer on Wheels) basket every week or maybe every student in your faculty is suddenly saving an iPad and the organizers are around the horrible phrase "gong paperless".

Throwing Whatever the level of technology integration, we all appear at some point in the transition to a new era in one country or another. The sad fact is, though, that many adults struggle to thrive in a new age, regardless of how many advanced developmental periods we receive or how much equipment we are given. We have been fully aware of the new faculty for 12 months that our college students will hack the media and use it in their own deviant way before we as instructors do research to show this tool.

The path to this problem is straightforward. It's time to dump her and move on. If you want to get ahead in the long run, we need to jump on the bandwagon of panic, fear and mistrust.

Overcome the fear of new technology.

Unlike the five stages of loss and grief, no one (not just adults) goes through the expected reaction to facing a new age. Knowing that these degrees are equal for all of us and that you are not the only one on the field, you can begin to move up the ranks faster. You can learn how to follow the lead of your college students and turn fear into happiness and recognition in the long run.

Step 1 - Denial

As teachers, we paint hard to improve our art. From year to year we make small changes to our curriculum, our lesson plans, and our lecture room management system to maximize our efficiency. Therefore, it can feel like a real shock when directors announce a sudden and clean alternative, which includes paperless training, and 1: 1 technology integration (in which each student is on a tool.

Works, whether it's a computer, tablet, or even their cell phone). Many instructors will enjoy the automated response to the information. The popular response is "It's not working anyway!"

This seems to be a regular reaction to the new technology. Even children, who seem to be leaning and excited about each new wave of technological advancement, go through initial uncertainty. The key to successful technology is to accept that you will be upset and scared.

This is normal. Simply acknowledging your fears allows you to flow more quickly in this class. The last thing you need is to let anxiety take over and let paralysis set in. It's okay to say, "I'm upset and I don't like it." But don't stop there. Go beyond anxiety and try the technology.

Step 2 - Bargaining

"They can put it in my study, but they can't force me to use it!" Maybe you will tell yourself that you will at least study naked. You will use the race through a basic comment about your dignity, or you will use it within the first week of college after which you will remove it and return to your daily, established, workout. Bargaining is definitely not a bad thing in this example.

This could make it easier to get closer to using the new tool explicitly. Even race fanatics will say, "I'll try to use it, but if it doesn't paint for me, I won't pursue it any more." As an instructor, let yourself know that you can give the race a try. If you don't find it irreparable, you can use it as little as possible, but you will at least allow yourself to try it without feeling overwhelmed.

Step 3 - Experiment

This is the key to success. This technology is a symbolic turning point in your mindset as a user. Once you allow yourself to experiment with the race and actually start clicking through it (whether it's a new tool that includes an iPad or a new internet site like Edmodo.Com) It is through experience that we truly overcome our fears.

You can hit a roadblock while experimenting with a brand new generation. Your frustration may increase, your fear may flare up, but don't let it stop you.

Trust that you can no longer damage the tool by simply clicking on it. You can always reboot, restart, or reload. Find a help button, a user manual, or maybe a YouTube educational movie that lets you remove these barriers. As you experience, be open minded and find something exciting or useful for you.

Step 4- Excitement

More often than not, experimenting with brand new tools will make instructors excited about the usefulness of their classroom. Teachers are using the creative and innovative human beings of their nature. We constantly look at different things.
