WORKSHEETS FOR STUDENTS
GENIALLY
Genially was used to learn about instruments. They did it at home (because of COVID19) so I asked them to copy in the notebook the activities. If we do this kind of activities in class, I usually give them the photocopy. That way they cut, paste and thet create nice portfolios. Anyway, I also sent them the worksheet. It was up to them to print it and paste it.
I splited the genially up into two in order to make them easier.
Genially 1 st part (worksheet 03_Instruments students)
Genially 2nd part (worsheet 04_Vernier Calliper)

To make funnier and more interesting how to read Calliper, I challenge students to guess the measure os the Calliper given and post the answer in mentimeter.

EDPUZZLE
To introduce scales, I found an interesting video on the Internet (youtube) and I used it to create an Edpuzzle.
Edpuzzle allows you to create interactive video lessons for students. You customize the video, insert questions and it tracks students' progress with free analytics as ...
Here below the original video from youtube and the Edpuzzle by whick I introduced scales to my students:
FLIPPITY
See worksheet 06_Scales SCAVENGER HUNT
SCAVENGER HUNT is, by definition in daily life, a game in which people must collect a number of items in a given period of time without buying them. What I did was create a digital learning scavenger hunt for students to learn about scales.
First, they got familiar to scales by watchin the video on Edpuzzle. Second, they did the first activity of the worksheet to learn the basic concepts. Finally, they learn more by playing this game! To make sure that they take notes and adquire concepts by playing, in the worksheet a chart to record results is included.
I used flippity, a website in which you can easily turn on a spreedsheet into a personalized and interactive educational game. In this case I created a scavenger hunt about scales. https://www.flippity.net/
This is the spreedsheet I customized
This is the scavenger hunt I prepared for students to learn and have fun at the same time!

In orden to make easier to register resultas, I type in the spreedsheet my email account (there are serveral options to customize your game). That waty, I received all answers. This is an example:
GOOGLE MAPS
The aim of this activity is that students become familiar with Google maps and the scales.
To make the activity to them easier, I created a tutorial
In my experience, using Google maps is not easy for students. They asked me for help even for typing an itinerary. And understand how the scale is read is sometimes hard for them. Thas is the reason why I decided not only make a tutorial but also provide them an example in English and Spanish.
After becoming familiar thanks to the video and the example, they should be ready to start their trip!

DIMENSIONING
Acotación
Next part is to become familiar to dimensioning: measure a object and make a drawing including real mesures following the rules.
To become familiar to rules we worked step by step:
1st: introduction worksheet to know the elements. 08_Dimensioning Introduction
2nd: we checked the answer 08_Dimensioning Introduction Answer
3rd: I prepared a worksheet with rules. They don't have to learn them, neither to copy on notebook, they have to read them and apply the rules to do an exercise (choose the correct answer) See 09_Dimensioning rules
4th: check the answer using https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W1VaMLISl_1alXbg5Dam7CJXAuACRGx7/view?usp=sharingQR code
5th: THE CHALLENGE!
An interesting activity in which students had to choose an object, make a drawing of it, measure lenght, width, diameter, etc and...write measurements following the rules!
Instructions here 10_Dimensioning the challenge
I created an ebook with students' creations in which I pointed out some mistakes. I shared the ebook with them in order to make them to realize about main mistakes and learn from them.

OBSOLESCENCE
Last Saturday was the Intertional Fair Trade Day.
We stop drawing unit to think about cosumism, how resposibles we are and fair trade.
Related to that part of the curriculum aimed to environment and projects, we develop this small learning scape. Even we use Sketchup to design our ideal fair product.
