Aims and scope of TECH-2024

This TECH2024 workshop will run as part of the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI): https://2024.ieeewcci.org as shown on list of WCCI IEEE workshops: https://2024.ieeewcci.org/workshops.

The Evolutionary Computation for Healthcare workshop (TECH-2024) is multidisciplinary, bringing together AI and Healthcare researchers working in the fields of personalised medicine, medical devices; clinical diagnostics, and patient monitoring by applying advanced genetic and evolutionary computation techniques to address critical problems in digital healthcare and medical applications.

The Evolutionary computation for health (TECH) and novel AI solutions, offer the next generation of healthcare solutions, when the demand on health systems and hospitals worldwide is increasingly becoming unsustainable. As the mode of treatment turns from the hospital to the home, there has been a particular focus on AI and EC for personalized medicine in the hope of improving patient care and reducing costs.

Journal Publication

Papers accepted at the IEEE WCCI workshops will not be published in the IEEE conference proceedings. Therefore, the TECH2024 workshop has arranged a separate agreement with an independent publication (Journal of Medical Systems (JMS), Springer), which will publish all accepted papers from TECH-2024 as journal articles, in a post-event special issue in the JMS journal (Impact 5.3).

All papers accepted and presented at TECH-2024 will be published in the prestigious: Journal of Medical Systems (JMS), Springer, Impact 5.3, H-index 100, Quartile 1, Established 1977. The TECH-2024 papers will form a dedicated topical collection, to appear rapidly as continual publishing through 2024. Springer Journal of Medical Systems Website: https://link.springer.com/journal/10916

Manuscripts can be prepared according to the Springer JMS Journal format guidelines: Use MS-Word or LaTeX, 10-point Times Roman, Single column.

Initial manuscripts should be submitted on EasyChair.

After acceptance, manuscripts can be submitted through the Springer JMS Journal by selecting TECH-2024 as the category: https://www.editorialmanager.com/joms/

No second round of reviews will be required, so the accepted TECH-2024 papers will be the published Journal papers.

Papers submitted to TECH-2024 must describe original research results and must not have been published or simultaneously submitted anywhere else. Each paper will receive a minimum of three reviews by members of the program committee and delegated experts. Papers will be selected based on their originality, relevance, technical clarity, and quality of presentation.

One paper will be selected by the organisers as theTECH-2024 Best Paper Award, with certificate from TECH-2024 organisers.

At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the TECH-2024 and present the paper in Japan.

Paper Submission Instructions

Papers should be submitted on the Easychair website:

Zoom Presentation of Accepted Papers

Authors of accepted papers can give a 10 minute presentation, during TECH-2024 workshop meeting, about their research followed by 3 minutes of questions.

The workshop meeting will be held mainly online using Zoom, to enable some authors to participate who may not be able to attend Japan in person.

The WCCI Program Coordination Chair, has assigned timing of TECH-2024 workshop to the second session (14:20-16:20) Japan Standard Time on July 1 2024.
