I'm currently trying to deploy TeamViewer via Intune that only support MSI files for deployment. However, TeamViewer has a feature called account assignment which it comes in form of an executable. Since Intune doesn't allow you deploy exe files, please correct me if I'm wrong. I have resulted in using a PowerShell script that will download the necessary files and then install.

if both links were to end with the file extension (.exe), then it would be no problem. But I would like to use Teamviewer links (get.teamviewer.com/myhost redirects hoping this will help a lot more people. As opposed to having a cloud storage account.

I have a problem with my TeamViewer Installation script.

The download and installation part works great, but the assignment isnt working reliable.

But i did some digging with composer and found a plist which can be used to determine whether the assignment has run, and to which account the app is assigned.

Here is a Extension attribute which returns the same values you can see under "Account Assignment" in the teamviewer preferences.

I ended up with this assignment script.

This runs as a second policy after the teamviewer installation.

In addition to this i have created a smart group for the clients where the assignment did not completed yet. (The extension attribute used for this is a few posts up). The assignment script is scoped to this smart group and runs daily.

I'm assuming if some sort of a program was run on my laptop, the 7-pass Erase will eliminate it?

Basically, I've never run headfirst into a scam like this before, and I'm absolutely terrified. My Dad insisted he didn't give the guy any credit card information, and I think he was on the phone with the same person the entire time, but I'm worried they may have downloaded files off of my computer. They definitely scared me into it! I've never seen the Error Viewer in Windows before. I was a bit suspicious when they ran a command in Terminal, and tried to sell me on "hundreds of hackers on your network!", but then they brought up Error Viewer on my Dad's and I was all set to pay them. Now, though, I'm more worried that someone somewhere downloaded and is rooting through all of my personal files. I can't believe I fell for this.

I don't have any Time Machine backups, or any backups saved to any other external hard drive. I only saved a few hundred Word files to Google Drive. Because those are documents, and not setting files, system files, or apps, should they be safe to redownload once the erase is complete?

On a mac, if you want teamviewer uninstalled, go to the Teamviewer folder and uninstall. Newer versions (Like 8, and now 9) of TeamViewer have an uninstaller inside it's Application folder. I've had this call today. Asked me to download team viewer support which I did. Luckily though when it came up with a code I didn't provide this as it didn't sound right. Googled team viewer support when I was on the phone which found out it was a scam. So glad I didn't provide any details. Absolutely disgusting these people.

He was very persistent and even tried to give me my sky account number and was trying to get me the install team viewer. He kept saying that he was from a secured sky server team and he wanted me to download team viewer so that he could show me the fault in my router. With my limited networking skills I'm sure you can get those kinds statistics from your actual router admin screen?
