Funds raised by Team Golomboski are donated to the American Parkinson's Disease Association Rhode Island Chapter, unless told otherwise. At times, a small portion of donations maybe used during Team events such as Yard Sales, Bake Sales and Raffles to off set costs of supplies needed to hold the event, this will be made known during the time of the event. Your donation helps fund the APDA Rhode Island Chapter patient aid scholarship program, virtual events, and local and online support groups.
The APDA Rhode Island Chapter is pleased to offer a Financial Support Program, which provides financial assistance to people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and their families who reside in the state of Rhode Island. Approved applicants will be eligible for up to $400 once per calendar year (January-December). Funds may be used for programs, services, and activities designed to improve quality of life.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants will be notified within sixty (60) days of receipt. Awards are made on a first-come basis and are based on the availability of funds.
Eligibility Guidelines:
To qualify for this Financial Support Program, the applicant will:
Complete and submit the below application.
Attest to having a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease or Parkinsonism.
Understand this program is intended to support people with Parkinson’s disease or Parkinsonism who need financial assistance.
Reside within Rhode Island.
Reside in the community, not in a rehabilitation center, long-term care, or skilled nursing facility.

Through the patient aid scholarship program, APDA helps supports costs associated with exercise/wellness programs and activities that focus on improving and maintaining the health for persons with PD, such as, but not limited to: boxing, dancing, yoga, tai-chi, physical therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, etc.

Through the patient aid scholarship program, the APDA subsidizes the cost of respite care for the person with Parkinson’s disease, to enable care partners to take time away to rejuvenate.
Through the patient aid scholarship program, the APDA helps support expenses for home services, such as housework, light yard work, snow shoveling, and other tasks that a person with PD or a care partner is not able to complete.
Through the he patient aid scholarship program, the APDA helps offset costs associated with the purchase and/or installation of equipment or modifications needed in the home to aid in activities of daily living, such as, but not limited to: grab bars, handrails, widening doorways, bathroom accessibility, etc.
