The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) World Under-24 Ultimate Championships (WU24UC) is held every two years and is ultimate’s most prominent international tournament for college-age athletes. Teams from across the world compete in three divisions – open, mixed and women’s.
The 2023 WU24UC will be the sixth edition of the tournament, which began in 2010. After forgoing the inaugural edition, Team USA has won 11 of the 12 available gold medals since. The open and mixed teams have won gold in every edition in which they’ve competed (2013, 2015, 2018, 2019). The women’s team won world titles in 2013, 2018 and 2019 and claimed silver in 2015.
The 2023 U24 World Championships will take place July 2-8 in Nottingham, UK.

Athletes that represent the United States are selected by USA Ultimate following a tryout process that attracts hundreds of the sport’s top young players. For the 2023 WU24UC, USA Ultimate invited 208 athletes to try out for the U24 National Team. Of the nearly 400 applicants, team coaches and selection assistants pared the list down to the 104 men and 104 women who competed for spots on Team USA at one of two tryouts – a west tryout in San Diego, and an east tryout in Atlanta.
Head coach Bob Krier and assistants David Allison, Darryl Stanley, and Hector Valdivia chose the open squad who will represent the USA at the 2023 U24 World Championships taking place July 2-8 in Nottingham, UK.
