Patch's Concept

Abstract

The goal of N.R.G. (Next Robotic Griller) is to replace a fast food industry line cook with a cheaper system. The robotic griller must be as efficient and fast as a human or better. The robot should be able to keep the location and state of multiple patties at once. Since the task is repetitive with little variation a robot should be able to do this task. The base Cartesian robot in this concept is equipped with a spatula and scraper end effector. The ideal process for this system is as follows: load a burger patty onto the grill, tend to the patty as it cooks, and unload the patty off the grill when it is done cooking. This system should fill a repetitive position critical to many popular fast-food restaurants.
