The Tea Buddy is a personal tea tasting companion app. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and store your information.
Local Users: Only a username is stored locally on your device.
Email Users: Username, email address, and a hashed password are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
Tea names, types, tasting notes, brewing parameters, store information, origin details, and photos you add are stored locally on your device.
Photos you select from your library or take with your camera are stored as local file references on your device. We do not upload your photos to any server.
All data is stored locally on your device using React Native's AsyncStorage. We do not operate any external servers or databases. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share tea selections with other users within the app.
Tea selections shared with other users are stored locally on the recipient's device using their username as an identifier.
No data is transmitted to external servers, third parties, or analytics services.
Camera: Used to take photos of your teas. We only access the camera when you explicitly choose to add a photo.
Photo Library: Used to select existing photos of your teas. We only access your photo library when you explicitly choose to add a photo.
Passwords are stored as hashed values, not plain text.
All data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted over the internet.
No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs are included in this app.
You can delete your account at any time by logging out.
You can delete all tea data by removing individual teas or uninstalling the app.
Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data.
This app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update our privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
