I've been working for VIPKID for the past 3.5 years and I love it. I get to tutor cute, Chinese children in the morning from the comfort of my home. The requirements for the position are that you have a Bachelor's degree and some teaching experience (formal or volunteer). They are looking for North Americans to teach during the peak teaching times (between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. Eastern Time), but other times are available as well.
Please apply using this link below. Make sure to include your relevant teaching experience or any volunteer teaching you have done.
In this website, I will show you what you need to know to have a higher chance of passing the interview stage as well as getting the highest possible score, which means more money for you! By the way, the pay is on average $21/hour. The hiring process can be competitive, however, so if you do get an interview or mock class scheduled, please message me and I can meet with you via video chat to help you prepare for those demo lessons. Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Am I Qualified?
You MUST have a Bachelor's degree.
It's awesome if you have more than a Bachelor's or you have a teaching certificate or ESL certificate, but it's not required to have these extra things. (It may get you a higher pay rate though)
You MUST have some teaching experience.
Although, it doesn't have to be formal. You might put on your application one of the following: K12 experience, homeschool, pre-school, Sunday school, camp, corporate training, music lessons, tutoring, etc).
You MUST be a native English speaker.
But you can live anywhere in the world and still teach.
Dagnab, I'm not qualified :(
Sorry to hear that. Head over to my other website where I can help you get a job at Magic Ears.
Pay
They will pay you between $18-22/hour. You get paid bi-monthly via direct deposit.
During the interview, they will determine your pay rate. Technically it will be a base wage per class taught ($7-9 per class). But they will also give you $1 bonus for showing up to class and $1 for teaching at least 45 classes in a month. So that's where the extra $2 comes from. You can teach 2 classes per hour, so you just double it to get the hourly wage. The average I usually see is $20/hour. To get the highest pay rate you need to do really well on the interview and also have good education and experience. You can get a $1 raise after 1 year if you qualify for it (you can find more info later).
Taxes: We are contract employees so you will get a 1099 form and you must set aside enough money (around 15-30%) to pay Uncle Sam at tax time.
Hours & Booking
Peak Hours = 5 AM - 8 AM Eastern
You can choose your own hours. Refer to the schedule below, which is in Mountain Time. You will have a higher chance of getting booked by parents if you open time spots in the Peak-Peak or Peak Times (Red and Peach colored). But you can open up times anywhere in the schedule. There is no minimum requirement. As a new teacher, you will notice that not all of your times fill up on your schedule. This is normal, but you usually get fully booked after a month or two of doing it. Then you will have repeat students and your schedule will stay full.
