Hello From Alaska!
Hello From Alaska!
Whelp, I will try to get everyone caught up on my last few days. As always, flying and moving can be quite an adventure.
I was scheduled to leave Atlanta around 6:00 Thursday 7/31/2025. After about an hour with the ticketing counter lady, Charmaine, she decided my dog's crate didn't meet standards, therefore he couldn't fly! Needless to say, I was heartbroken. Of course, now I am running late for the flight and still needing to go through TSA, so I pulled up my bootstraps and cried all the way through the process of getting on the plane!
Don't worry, that was NOT the end of the exciting trip up to Fairbanks! The flight boarded on time and we were about to push off, when lightning got to close to the run way and we went into a delay! We finally left about 2 hours late. Obviosuly, the dominoes then start to fall. I arrive for my connecting flight in Oregon a little too late. Because there were no more flights that night I had to get myself a little hotel room and attempt to get some shut eye.
I managed to do just that and even slept on the plane ride to Anchorage. (Yep, I got an extra layover with my new route). Thankfully the delay was the last of my issues for this trip! I ended up getting to Fairbanks, getting my rental car, and getting to my VRBO with no issues what so ever (PHEW)
My impression of Fairbanks so far is that I like it. I was worried about it having too much of a city feel, but it doesn't. Fairbanks is pretty spread out, and I have hit minimal traffic.
I have visited a few places today.... Everyone I have interacted with has been super friendly! 10/10 experience so far!
Tomorrow I will tell you a little more about the places i have visited so far.
