My name is Melanie Ponchot, and I love to draw. I also love thunderstorms, dogs in costumes, dogs leaning out of car windows to sniff the wind, and dogs that wiggle their feet while dreaming.       

When I was 22, I had enormous energy to investigate the mystery of painting. In my thirties, I stopped painting classically and made a new home in the field of illustration, making lots of fun stuff and pursuing joy. Now, in my 40s, my greatest joy is teaching others who are just beginning their artistic journey.
