I believe in the IB's mission to create a better world through education, international mindedness and intercultural understanding.  I have an international educator's certificate and is a qualified IB PYP teacher. Education can change a person's life and I hope to make a difference even if it is in a small way. 🌍 

I love questions and practise continuous development. My favourite teaching podcast right now is the "Cult of Pedagogy".  I am a Seesaw Pioneer and have experience in Blended Learning practices. I am also a Google Certified Educator and am currently working towards being a certified Apple teacher.  That said,  my classroom environment is my "second teacher" and technology such as Spotify music is my "third teacher". 💭

I believe in the importance of social emotional learning and learning about mindfulness. Mister Rogers has an influence in the way I approach education and I am currently implementing the Second Step SEL program and Zones of Regulation in school. Peace begins with a smile. Just Breathe 😊

I care about people and the world.  I like learning about different cultures and enjoy the company of people from diverse backgrounds. I was also involved in social entrepreneurship before I decided to embark on my lifelong journey as a professional educator.  My WOW moment was working in a social business coffee roasting cafe in Tanzania. ❤️

I love learning about different education models around the world. Reading "Worlds in Creation" by Daniel Greenberg, a book about the Sudbury Valley schools, had a big impact on my decision to become an educator. It opened up my world to alternative education and the concept of play. 📚

I love to be in nature be it above or under the water. I am an advanced nitrox scuba diver and am fortunate to have climbed several big mountains in the world. I also picked up skiing 6 years ago and feel proud to be able to ski proficiently now. 🏞

I love ideas and enjoy meaningful collaboration. I teamed up with 2 colleagues for a 3-month workshop on Making Learning Visible. We acquired and applied our knowledge on group learning and documentation.💡

I love the communication process. I think it is fascinating that we can do it in more than one way. How we do it is the key to everything! I also have a bachelor's degree in communication studies with a major in public relations and advertising. 💫

I love to let my hair down and dance. My first dance class was ballet and my last major music festival was Fuji Rock in 2019.  I hope the pandemic will be over soon so we can enjoy festivals! 💃

I love my family. I am married to a Welsh man and have a lovely cat from Taiwan.  😍
