We use the simple past tense of the verb to be for any state to describe a person or situation in the past

Verbo to be in present = Is/Are
Verbo to be in Past = Was/Were
PUEDE TENER CUATRO EQUIVALENTES EN ESPAÑOL:
Por ejemplo:
I WAS= Yo... era, estaba, estuve, fuí.
WE WERE= Nosotros.. eramos, estabamos, estuvimos, fuimos.
Subject + to be (was/were) + complement
- Last weekend I was at the beach.
-My dad was a doctor.
-She was happy at her birthday party.
-We were lost at ixmatkuil.
-They were scared of the spiders.
-You were at ixmatkuil last week.
Subject + to be (wasn´t/weren´t) + comp
last weekend I wasn´t at the beach.
My dad wasn´t a doctor.
She wasn´t happy at her birthday party.
we weren´t lost at ixmatkuil.
they weren´t scared of the spiders.
you weren´t at ixmatkuil last week.
For questions, change the order of was or were and the person.
to be (was/were) + subject + complement
Were you tired this morning? Yes, I was.
Was she at the park last Sunday? No, she wasn't.
Where was he yesterday?
