The only area I've seen where a teacher's guide would help is the very last page or two of the books don't have any instructions. Maybe it's an eval of some sort---I have no clue---but it's really a non issue. Definitely no need for the teacher's guides.

Now that we're in Book 4 (we did 5 first because it's simpler), I find I do need to peek at it a bit ahead so I know what the rule is that we're working on each day. Before she starts, I teach or remind her of the rule and work out a couple of examples on the whiteboard. This is something pretty much any parent can do - no manual required unless perhaps English isn't your first language.

One thing to know is that the teacher guides are not answer keys. They only have answers for the post-tests, which is frustrating. So if you are looking for teaching instruction, they might be helpful, but if you are looking for answers, they are not helpful in that regard.

Using the topic of elite sports, along with the interactive experiences at the Museum itself, the lessons connect the educational themes of the exhibition to your national and local STEAM content requirements. The TG Diagnostic Tool assesses the quality of existing TGs and provides guidance on how to develop of a new set of TGs. The Diagnostic Tool provides purposely evaluative criteria that draw from implementation and research evidence to make recommendations for improvement. Examples from existing public-domain TGs in LMICs (like above) demonstrate that each of the criterion are achievable standards of excellence. The Diagnostic Tool also provides the supporting literature and research evidence for each of the criterion defined in the Tool. Policymakers, program designers, and other educational stakeholders seeking to use TGs as part of an intervention can leverage the Tool to ensure that the TGs provide the appropriate and necessary guidance to teachers in order to drive improved student outcomes.

The authors of the TG Diagnostic Tool incorporated a broad range of perspectives and voices on best practices for TGs around the world. We thank all who participated in our consultations process and shared their feedback on how to make the Tool and guidance it provides comprehensive, clear, and useful for users. Please continue to reach out to us at coach@worldbank.org to share your thoughts and engage with our work!

In our Core Classics Series, we present stories loved for generations in abridged versions for young readers, faithful to the style, plot, and themes of the originals. The texts support and reinforce knowledge from the CKLA curriculum.

Don Quixote is one of the most famous of all novels, and with good reason. On one level, it is simply a really funny story. But, there is a great deal more to it, and I hope that some of your students, at least, are able to pick up on that!

Frederick Douglass was born a slave in Maryland in 1817. In the South before the Civil War, it was against the law for a slave to learn to read and write. But a few, like Douglass, managed to learn. When Douglass was twenty-one, he escaped from slavery and made his way to Massachusetts, where he joined the abolitionist movement and began making powerful speeches against slavery.

Friedrich provides a starting point for developing an understanding of the events, issues, and personal crises faced by all those living in Germany in the years 1930 to 1942, particularly 1930 to 1939. It can be used by the teacher as part of a more extended study of Holocaust history or Holocaust literature, or stand on its own as literature.
