This Privacy Policy describes how TDA UTILITY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use The Dhobi App mobile application and related services that enable laundry and allied service requests (together, the “Service”).
Company: TDA UTILITY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED
Registered address: E/16, Sector 1, Devendra Nagar, Raipur, Chhattisgarh 492001, India
Privacy contact email: tda69961@gmail.com
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
This Policy primarily applies to the customer-facing The Dhobi App available on mobile devices. If we operate other Dhobi-branded applications or web dashboards for staff, partners, or branch operations, those products may collect additional operational data; where material differences exist, we will provide supplemental notices or policies as appropriate.
2.1 Information you provide
Mobile phone number and OTP verification data (including messages sent via SMS where used for login or security).
Name and email address (if you provide them).
Profile information you choose to add (for example a profile photo).
Address and location-related inputs you provide or confirm (including addresses used for pickup, delivery, pricing/availability, and branch/service-area resolution).
Order and service information (items, preferences, schedules, instructions, and similar details needed to fulfil your request).
Payment-related information needed to operate the Service (such as payment method selection, order totals, payment status, wallet usage where applicable, and transaction references). Online payments, where available, are handled using payment partners; we do not ask you to share full card numbers inside the app in place of the payment partner’s secure flow.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
Device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, app version, diagnostics, crash information).
Network identifiers such as IP address.
Usage information (such as feature usage, timestamps, and interactions) to maintain reliability and improve the Service.
Push notification tokens and related delivery metadata where you enable notifications.
2.3 Information collected through device permissions
Depending on the features you use, the app may request permissions supported by your device. We use permission-based data only for the purposes described here and in permission prompts where applicable, including:
Location (precise and/or approximate) for maps, address selection, logistics, and service-area/branch features.
Camera and/or photos/media to allow you to capture or choose images (for example profile or order-related images).
Some device permissions may be requested because they are bundled with integrated SDKs or required by the platform for stability in certain configurations. If you deny a permission, some features may not work.
We use information to:
Provide and operate the Service (account creation, authentication, scheduling, fulfilment, status updates, and customer support).
Process payments and wallet-related actions where available, maintain financial records as required, and help detect/prevent fraud or abuse.
Communicate with you using push notifications, SMS, and (if you provide an email or we send operational email) email, for service-related messages, security alerts, and important notices.
Improve the Service (quality, performance, troubleshooting, and analytics in aggregated or de-identified form where used).
Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use the information described in this Policy to show third-party advertising inside the app based on our current product design. If that changes, we will update this Policy.
Where local law requires a legal basis, we typically rely on: contract (providing the Service), consent (where required for permissions/marketing), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement, internal operations), and legal obligation.
We may share information with service providers and partners who assist us in operating the Service, including:
Google services commonly integrated in Android apps, such as Google Play services, Google Maps / Google Places (mapping and place-related features), and Firebase services (commonly including Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications). These providers process information under their own policies.
Cloud hosting/storage, SMS/communication providers, customer support tools, and payment processing partners.
We require service providers to use personal information only as instructed for providing services to us, unless law requires otherwise.
We do not sell personal information as a line of business. If we engage partners in a way that constitutes “sale” or “sharing” under certain laws (for example some U.S. state laws), we will update this Policy and provide legally required choices.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business needs, including security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal/tax/compliance obligations. Retention periods can vary by data category. You may contact us for more detail using the email above.
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete certain information, and to object or restrict certain processing.
To exercise rights or ask questions, email tda69961@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity. You may also be able to update certain information in-app where available.
You can stop much app-related collection by uninstalling the application, but we may retain certain records where required by law or for legitimate business needs (for example completed transactions).
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact tda69961@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.
The Service may contain links to third-party sites or services. Their practices are governed by their own policies.
Our operations and service providers may process information in India and other countries. Where required by law, we use appropriate measures for cross-border processing.
If you are located in India and applicable law provides for a grievance mechanism under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (or related rules), you may contact us at tda69961@gmail.com for grievances related to processing of your personal data under this Policy. We will respond in line with applicable timelines where the law applies to our processing.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page and update the Last updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
