Abstract:Â
In this talk, I will start by discussing how statistics education has changed in recent decades and what are the current main themes in statistics education research. For example, statistics anxiety, active learning and engagement, the use of software, contextualisation, and assessment. I will delve into the research on some of these themes, and relate the themes to my own research and teaching of statistics, describing how they inform and complement each other. Finally, I will conclude with some points on inclusive teaching practices.
