T.C.B.C. TUESDAY CLUB NIGHT
UMBRELLA COMPETITION 2022 SEASON
The Tuesday evening Umbrella Competition is open to all players (subject to a one off payment of £1.50) and is intended to give new bowlers and new members the chance to meet other members and enjoy a friendly game in a relaxed atmosphere.
The competition will start on Tuesday 3rd May and will be played on 17 dates as listed below.
Players must register 15 minutes before the start time shown for the game.
Each game will be played over 15 ends. Games of less than 15 ends will not count towards the total for the season.
Players will randomly pick a rink number and team colour. When all the numbers have been picked, players will then decide on their preferred playing positions.
Each team will play with 8 bowls. Teams being made up as follows: -
2 players - 4 woods each
3 players - 3 woods each – Lead & Second, 2 woods - Skip
4 players- 2 woods each
The game will commence with the toss of a coin to determine the order of play.
Each team will have a scorecard. Scorecards must be given to the competition organiser at the end of the game. No scorecard = No points!
Player’s scores will be recorded weekly and their best 9 scores of the season will count towards their final total. In the event of a tie at the end of the season, the best 8 scores of the players concerned will count and so on until a clear winner is found.
Points will be awarded as follows: -
1 point for each end won
PLUS
2 points for a game win up to 3 shots
3 points for a game win up to 6 shots
4 points for a game win up to 8 shots
5 points for a game win up to 10 shots
6 points for a game win over 10 shots
A ‘League Table’ showing the number of games played by each player, points awarded and their accumulated score will be placed on the Notice Board in the Club House near the kitchen door.
