A GUIDE FOR MEMBERS ON TEA DUTY (last revised 2019)

1)      SWITCH ON LARGE WATER HEATER – Turn on at wall first then rocker switch on machine.

2)     SWITCH ON DISHWASHER – instructions are on the wall

3)     LAY TABLES- Table plans are to be found in the information folder hanging on the notice board near the kitchen. Tablecloths are in drawer in kitchen. Lay up extra table for any non-playing guests either in pavilion or on balcony as appropriate. On each table place sugar bowl with a few sachets of sugar, teaspoons in a glass and raffle tickets in a glass, also 2 plates of biscuits with 2-3 biscuits per player, doyleys are in kitchen drawer.

4)     LAY UP BROWN TRAYS and place on side tables. On each tray place cups and saucers, milk jug and three spare tea bags in a dish also rink numbers, which are found in wooden box under ladies’ notice board. Put a number on each tray with corresponding larger number on each adjacent table. Check which rink the Captain is playing on and make this the TOP TABLE. Put the gavel and block here (found on cupboard near bar).

5)     WHEN CAPTAIN’S RINK HAS PLAYED 9 ENDS make tea using 4-5 tea bags per pot and place with filled hot water jug on each tray. Ring the ship’s bell outside the main entrance. Please leave the hatch up during tea so that the Captains can thank you for your efforts. Fill up hot water and milk jugs as required. Make coffee if requested at the hatch and please do not put coffee on the tables.

6)     WHEN TEA IS FINISHED CLEAR UP and use dishwasher for all crockery and cutlery. Put everything away as found. Check tablecloths before putting away and arrange to be washed if dirty. Wipe all tables with clean damp cloth and vacuum the pavilion.

7)    SWITCH OFF THE BOILER – rocker switch first and then at the wall. Leave the water heater on

8)    EMPTY THE DISHWASHER – instructions are on the wall
