TBCPh Election Rules and Policies

This section contains the guidelines, rules and policies on how to conduct the Trailblazer Club of the Philippines' electoral process for the officer positions.

I. Before the end of the term of the outgoing officers, the club should be prepared to elect the new set of officers. The outgoing officers should ensure the ff: Communication of the process to entire club, identification of nominees, preparation for turn-over. During election period, purchases, new contracts, policy changes are discouraged to ensure that a proper turn-over can be performed.


II. Nomination is open to all active members. The nominee should be have an active membership, an owner / assignee of any Chevrolet Trailblazer, no outstanding case/s in the club, ability to perform the duties of the role, has not reached the maximum number of Terms of service and of reputable standing. The incumbent President will announce the opening of the nomination period, closing of the nomination period, opening and closing of the election period.


III. The outgoing secretary will notify all nominees regarding the nomination. The nominee may opt to withdraw citing one or more reasons on why the nominee is unable to perform the duties of the role.


IV. After the closing of the election, the top 7 nominees with the most votes will form the official Collegiate Body. The Collegiate Body will designate within the body who will take on the roles listed in Section V. For clarity, the purpose of this exercise is to ensure that the leadership team completely supports the new President. This will be finalized and made official by the outgoing officers during the new officers induction ceremony. Announcement to the entire club and to the partners will be done within the week of the induction by the outgoing President and the outgoing Secretary. Only active members can elect and vote.


V. The following positions has to be determined from the official Collegiate Body:

President

Vice President

Secretary

Treasurer

Partner Management Officer

Communications and New Media Officer

Auditor


VI. A Term is defined to have a duration of 2 years. Club officers will need to be elected for every Term of service. Any officer has a maximum of 2 consecutive Terms of service. Elected officers are automatically honorary members during their Terms of service. They do not have to pay for membership fee renewal.


VII. A Failure of Election can be proclaimed only on any of the following scenarios: Number of nominees is less than number of officer positions, nominees withdrawal results to number of nominees less than number of officer positions, active members that have voted is less than 50% of the official active members as of the end of the election period. In the event of a Failure of Election, the incumbent officers upon unanimous decision extend the election period until such a time that nominees have sufficient number.


VIII. To ensure proper continuity of TBCPh's programs, relationships, partnerships, and to help guide the new set of officers, the outgoing officers can, upon unanimous vote, move to have at most 3 officers to extend an extra term. This special rule can supersede Section IV on the number of nominees to form the official Collegiate Body but should, in total, still tally with positions in Section V. The extra term provision cannot be applied to more than once in succession to any particular officer and can only be used for outgoing, incumbent officers.


IX. During the election, each member should only vote at most the total number of positions open for election. Members that have casted their votes beyond the total number of positions will have all their votes nullified in the tally.
