Adapto is a taxi-bus service for people with long-term mobility problems who cannot travel by themselves or by public transport. This service is reserved for occasional trips. It is accessible only to holders of a specific access card . This must be requested in advance from the Department of Transportation.

The activity of private hire drivers, i.e. the hire of a passenger car with a driver to transport persons against payment or free of charge, is not subject to a taxi driver licence in Luxembourg.

The taxi activity in Luxembourg is regulated and limited. The taxi licence is required for all natural persons or commercial companies who plan to operate a "taxi service", i.e. the occasional transport against payment of persons by taxi.
