Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Environmental Science,
Stockholm University
Hello! I am Taveen, a researcher studying the physicochemical and radiative properties of aerosols. My research combines in situ and remote sensing measurements with physical and statistical modeling to quantify emissions and their climate impacts.
Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stockholm University in Prof. Örjan Gustafsson's group, focusing on carbonaceous aerosols across South and East Asia.
I was previously a postdoctoral researcher at Washington University in St. Louis, in Prof. Rajan Chakrabarty's lab. There, I characterized the optical properties of alumina particles, relevant to spacecraft emissions and stratospheric aerosol injection, and investigated the properties of "dark" brown carbon.
I earned my PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay under the supervision of Prof. Harish Phuleria (ESED, IITB), Prof. Chandra Venkataraman (ChE, IITB), and Prof. Rajan Chakrabarty (ECEE, WashU). My work focused on aerosol emissions from burning agricultural residue biomass and their optical properties as a part of the NCAP-COALESCE project.
My foundation in this field began as a project research assistant at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, working with Prof. S. K. Satheesh and Prof. J Srinivasan.
Beyond research, I enjoy long bike rides, following football, and discussing anything climate change.
