Creating Bad Presentations...

...To Learn How to Make Good Presentations.

Another fantastic lesson from Jon Corippo.  The basic premise is to learn how to make great presentations from creating a really bad one.  I decided to give it a try in my Literacy class to see how it went.

Oh. My. Goodness.

First of all it was a lot of fun. Even my work-avoidance students were focused and excited.

Secondly it worked.  As I read my students' reflections, I realized that many (if not all) had found realization in just what NOT to do.  I could see the power of using this in my regular classroom.   We will introduce it early on, focusing on the joy of learning how to create a GOOD slide.  I completely see how this powerful protocol will make the jigsaw strategy better.

In Jon's own's words:  Death-By-Powerpoint

My judges' panel used my Bad Presentation Bingo to 'judge' each presentation.
