If you want a complete, professional-grade pair of wired studio headphones designed for long mixing sessions and everyday listening, choose Tascam TH-MX2; if you need a spare part kit to repair your existing wireless headphones because the original headband is broken, choose MFLDSFLHM Pack Studio 3. These are not competing products in the traditional sense—one is a finished audio device, while the other is a hardware repair component—but buyers often search for them together when trying to decide between buying new gear or fixing old gear. This comparison cuts through the confusion by looking at exactly what each item offers, who they fit, and why one might be the right solution for your specific situation, especially if you wear glasses and need comfort that lasts.
• Tascam TH-MX2: Offers a complete, lightweight closed-back headphone experience with a 40mm driver and passive noise cancellation, ideal for users needing reliable audio without batteries; however, it is strictly wired and lacks the wireless convenience of modern alternatives.
• MFLDSFLHM Pack Studio 3: Provides two replacement headbands and a repair kit to restore broken Studio 3 headphones, offering significant value if you already own the base unit; its trade-off is that it requires DIY skills and does not include an instruction manual, making it useless for anyone without a damaged headphone.
• Best for: The Tascam TH-MX2 is for someone looking to buy a primary set of headphones for work or play, while the MFLDSFLHM pack is strictly for a technician or DIYer fixing a specific model of wireless headphone.
The Tascam TH-MX2 is engineered as a dedicated tool for audio professionals and enthusiasts who demand accuracy and comfort during extended use. Its design centers on a closed-back configuration, which isolates sound effectively and prevents leakage into microphones—a critical feature for recording environments. The ear placement is over-ear, utilizing round earpieces that sit securely around the ears rather than inside them. This form factor is particularly relevant for those seeking the best headset for glasses wearers, as the padded headband and ear bands are stitched tightly to distribute weight evenly. At just 298 grams, these are among the lighter options in their class, reducing the strain that heavy clamping force can place on the temples where eyeglass arms rest.

The core of the audio performance lies in the 40mm neodymium magnet dynamic driver. With a frequency range spanning from 18 Hz to 22 kHz, this unit covers the full spectrum of human hearing, delivering deep bass and crisp highs essential for mixing tracks. The impedance sits at 32 ohms, meaning they do not require a massive amplifier to drive them but still offer high fidelity. They come with a substantial cable length of about 9.8 feet (3 meters) when fully extended, giving you plenty of room to move around a studio without being tethered to your interface. The package includes a screw-on 1/8" to 1/4" adapter, ensuring compatibility with both consumer devices and professional audio equipment.
However, this product is not for everyone. Because it relies entirely on a wired connection via a 3.5 mm jack, there is no Bluetooth capability. If you prioritize the freedom of untethered movement for commuting or working out, the TH-MX2 will feel restrictive. Additionally, while it features passive noise cancellation through its closed design, it does not have active noise cancelling electronics. It is a pure, analog audio experience. You should skip this if you need a battery-powered device or if you prefer the compact nature of true wireless earbuds. Instead, buy this if you want a durable, plug-and-play solution that prioritizes sound quality and build integrity over wireless convenience.
The MFLDSFLHM Pack Studio 3 serves a completely different purpose: it is a maintenance kit, not a standalone audio product. Specifically, this is a two-piece pack of replacement top headbands designed for the Studio 3 Wireless Headphones. If your current pair has a cracked band, loose hinges, or simply worn-out padding, this kit allows you to restore the device to like-new condition. The parts are crafted to match the Shadow Gray color of the original headphones perfectly, ensuring the aesthetic remains consistent after repair. The package also includes necessary fasten screws and screwdriver parts, though it notably excludes an instruction manual. Users must rely on video tutorials found online to navigate the assembly process, which involves careful alignment of ribbon cables.
This product is exclusively for owners of the Studio 3 Wireless version. Buying this without verifying your specific headphone model is a waste of money. Furthermore, because the box contains two headbands, one is intended as a spare for future storage, adding a layer of longevity to your investment. The packaging dimensions suggest a compact unit, weighing only 3.49 ounces, making it easy to ship or store. However, the lack of written instructions means this is not a "grab-and-fix" item for the uninitiated. It requires patience and precision to avoid damaging the internal ribbon cables during reassembly.
Who should consider this? Only people who already own the specific headphones this kit supports and whose original headbands have failed. If you are looking for a new pair of headphones, this is not the answer. It is a niche accessory for the practical-minded who prefer repairing high-quality gear rather than replacing it entirely. For neckband headphones for glasses wearers who find the original band uncomfortable or broken, this repair kit offers a chance to fix the fit without spending the cost of a new unit. But remember, you cannot use this if you don't already have the base headphone unit; it is a spare part, not a complete system.
