Hi! I am Tarid, a doctoral candidate in the Measurement, Evaluation, and Data Science program at the University of Alberta.
Welcome to my blog on psychometric, data science, and tidbits about my academic lives! This site is my portfolio 2.0 as Google Site supports a wider range of content types.
As a researcher, my primary area of interest is in the usage of quantitative methods to address research problems in educational measurement and other social issues pertaining to social science.
I also seek to use qualitative and mixed methods research skills where appropriate to understand social phenomena from another perspective.Â
Additionally, I am learning to utilize data science tools like data mining, machine learning, and natural language processing to derive insights from large-scale data for a more comprehensive perspective.
I hope by sharing what I learned (and rant about what I encountered), I could provide some food for thoughts and inspiration for some of you along in what you are doing.
Thank you for visiting!
I would not be who I am without these universities!
