Ts. Dr. Tarak Nandy is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Malaya. He obtained both his B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly West Bengal University of Technology), Kolkata, India.
Dr. Nandy has accumulated extensive academic and research experience across several international institutions. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Narula Institute of Technology, India, and conducted his early research at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, under the supervision of an ISI professor. He subsequently served as an Associate Professor at Maldives Business School, Maldives, before joining the University of Malaya as a Graduate Research Assistant. He later held academic positions as an Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University, India, and as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science at UCSI University, Malaysia. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya.
His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Vehicular Networks, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics. His work has resulted in numerous publications in leading international journals and conferences, with particular emphasis on developing intelligent, data-driven solutions for real-world problems.
Dr. Nandy has secured competitive research funding and actively contributes to the research community through editorial and peer-review activities for high-impact international journals. He serves as a reviewer for several leading SCI-indexed journals and regularly participates in international conferences as a Technical Program Committee member and invited speaker.
He is an active member of the Malaysia Board of Technology (MBOT), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is affiliated with the IEEE Communications Society and the IEEE Sensors Council. His current research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Explainable AI, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Cybersecurity, and AI-driven decision support systems.
