One Dorothy G Walker Award of Merit is presented at the annual TAPHE conference each October to a teacher, supervisor, and/or administrator who has made a notable contribution to the development of physical and health education in the province of Nova Scotia.
To be awarded at Award Winner's school in the Fall. Will be recognized at the annual TAPHE conference in October

The TAPHE Farida Gabbani Young Professional Award annually honours up to three young Nova Scotian teachers under the age of 34 who epitomize exemplary work on behalf of the health and/ or physical education professions. To nominate an outstanding young health or physical education professional for this honour, please complete the form found here.

The Regional Nomination package is completed by one nominator with 2 additional names given as references. (No formal nomination letters required.)
The Provincial Nomination package is much more in depth and is completed by one nominator with 2 additional reference letters required.
ALL nominations received (Regional and Provincial) will be considered for a Regional Health or PE award. Only the Provincial nominations will be considered for the Provincial Award. The winner of the Provincial award will be nominated by TAPHE for the National PHE Canada Health or PE award.
The TAPHE Regional Award for Teaching Excellence in Health Education honours Nova Scotian teachers for their work in furthering health education in our province and who provide outstanding teaching at the elementary, middle or secondary levels, and who have an exceptional ability to motivate students to participate in a healthy, active lifestyle.
