Welcome to TanX! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the TanX app (the "App"), an SPF, sun-safety, and UV-tracking app that provides UV forecasts, tanning guidance, and optional skin analysis. By using TanX, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. USE OF THE APP
1.1 Eligibility
To use TanX, you must be at least 13 years old. By accessing the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
1.2 What TanX Does
TanX provides UV index data, forecasts, sun times, personalized SPF and tanning recommendations, optional on-device skin analysis, timers, and tracking features. Recommendations are generated automatically from data you provide and from third-party weather sources.
1.3 User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App responsibly and not to submit content that violates laws or third-party rights, or that is harmful, offensive, or inappropriate. We may restrict or remove content that violates these Terms.
2. HEALTH & SAFETY DISCLAIMER
TanX is provided for informational and general wellness purposes only and is NOT a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. UV values, skin-analysis results, recommended exposure times, SPF suggestions, and Vitamin D estimates are approximations and may be inaccurate. Overexposure to ultraviolet radiation can cause sunburn, premature skin aging, eye damage, and skin cancer. Always tan responsibly, follow sunscreen guidance, and consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your skin, sun exposure, or any medical concern. You use the App and follow any recommendation at your own risk.
3. SUBSCRIPTIONS & PAYMENTS
TanX offers an auto-renewing subscription ("TanX Pro") that unlocks premium features. The following terms apply:
- Subscriptions are offered on a weekly or yearly basis, and may include an introductory free trial. Current prices are shown in the App before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store account settings after purchase.
- Purchases and renewals are processed and managed by Apple. Refunds are subject to Apple's policies; we do not process payments directly.
4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
4.1 Ownership
All intellectual property in the App — including text, graphics, logos, design, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable laws.
4.2 License to Use
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use TanX for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or publicly share any part of the App without our written consent.
5. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
You agree not to:
- Use TanX for illegal or unauthorized purposes;
- Interfere with the App's operation, security, or third-party data providers;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App;
- Attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours.
6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
TanX relies on third-party services, including Apple WeatherKit, Open-Meteo, Apple App Store / StoreKit, and Google Firebase. Weather and UV data are provided "as is" by these sources, and we are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, or their separate terms and policies.
7. DISCLAIMERS
TanX is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy of data, or error-free operation. Use the App at your own risk.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including loss of data, profits, health effects, or functionality — resulting from your use of, or inability to use, TanX.
9. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates are effective upon posting in the App or on this page. Continued use of TanX means you accept the updated Terms.
10. TERMINATION
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to TanX for violations of these Terms or for any other reason, without prior notice.
11. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of your applicable jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
