Instructor: Dr. Tanmay Sahoo
Class Hours: 2 lectures/week
Target Students: 3rd Semester B.Tech (Data Science)
Description: In scientific and engineering fields, a common objective is to draw conclusions about a process or phenomenon by observing it on limited occasions through data collection. Many real-world processes involve randomness. Probability Theory is used to model this uncertainty. Based on these models and the observed data, we apply Statistics to analyze and draw inferences about the process. The course aims to introduce basic concepts of Probability and Statistics to develop statistical thinking.
