TONDO, MANILA - The Philippine Cultural College (Manila), in partnership with Philippine Tiu Gan Family Association, Philippine Lao Too Family Association, and Philippine Kho Family Association, donated textbooks and crayons to Barangay Narra Daycare Center.
Despite the heavy rain in Manila, the program became vibrant as PCC and its partner associations handed over learning materials to pupils as well as teaching references to teachers. Ms. Leonora Jamon, Narra Daycare Center teacher, hosted the program. Nursery and pre-kindergarten wore handmade colored paper hats with printed names of sponsors. The books donated consisted of English, Mathematics, and Filipino books.
The pupils were categorized into four groups based on the color of their hats and the associations they represented.
Red: Tiu Gan Association; Yellow: Philippine Cultural College (Manila);
Blue: Philippine Lao Too Association; Green: Philippine Kho Association
Representatives of each association present for the teaching and learning materials distributions were Mr. Johnson Gan and Mr. Ryan Tiu of Tiu Gan Association, Mr. Antonio Kaw of Philippine Kho Association; Dr. Polly Wee Sy, Dr. Sining Marcos Kotah, and Mrs. Peggie Gan of PCC (Manila).
Although a representative from the Philippine Lao Too Association was unable to attend, their contribution of books and supplies was gratefully received and distributed to the pupils. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the representatives personally handed out the materials, interacting with the children and encouraging them to explore their new books and crayons.
The program was initiated by PCC late principal Mr. Emilio Gan who invited the nearby family associations to take part in. Indeed, the vision and mission of PCC to provide quality education extends to partner communities by providing equal opportunity for all.
