PCC Hosts First Online Teacher’s Day Celebration

OCTOBER 5, 2020 -- For the first time ever, Philippine Cultural College - Main Campus celebrated World Teacher’s Day virtually, starting off with the Student Council hosting a live event on Facebook entitled “Traversing Riptides and Achieving Dreams.” After which, the school hosted an online awarding ceremony for the exemplars of the previous academic year to recognize teachers and employees who exerted exemplary service and performance.
The streaming on the social networking platform began at 9 am, and was attended by over 600 viewers. The celebration recognized the hard work and dedication of the PCC teachers.
The Golden Apple Awards are an annual tribute to teachers, where students vote for teachers of their choice for several categories, including the Most Approachable Teacher Award, the Most Inspiring Teacher Award, the Most Memorable Kinder Teacher Award, and the Behind the Scenes Wonder Award. A new award was introduced this school year, the Most Tech Savvy Award. It was given to teachers who effectively showcased the use of technology in their online classes. The award was conferred across elementary and high school levels, and the English and the Chinese departments.
The event started with a song from the Glee Club, which was followed by the Golden Apple Awarding Ceremony for the grade school category. There were also video messages from former Student Council presidents expressing their greetings for teachers. It was then followed by the Golden Apple Awarding Ceremony for the high school category. Finally, the Student Council also awarded a plaque of recognition to PCC Main Vice President Dr. Sining Kotah for exemplifying excellent leadership during these trying times.

After the live virtual event by the student council, an awarding ceremony took place through an online meeting attended by PCC Main administrators and employees, to recognize the excellent performance and tremendous service exerted by teachers for the academic year 2019-2020. The awards given are the Perfect Attendance Award, Service Award, the Teacher of the Year Award, and the Rank A Teachers. These awards were conferred in light of a rigorous evaluation process done annually by the administrators. The recipients of these awards are as follows:
